Yes, just cut and paste as required. Use Notepad is fine. With all your experience using WED I assumed it would not be "all new to me". Sorry
Never heard of it. I just did what I had to in order to place a church and a couple of other bits in my town. That was 4 years ago. I didn't find it easy either.
Anyway, I've finally downloaded it and it seems ok out of the box.

You can reset or restart OC or your computer, your download will resume without losing what you've downloaded.
I did that. It went back to about 50%. so I guess I lost quite a bit of it. I read the advice on another of your posts and changed the download settings, pointing it at my SSD and enabling fast-lane etc. 12:30 pm and It's still crawling along. You can see it counting in fives: 395... 400... 405... Surely it shouldn't be this bad. Is there another way to download it other than using OC?

Hello friends,
I just fitted a new SSD to my PC and busy installing my Orbx goodies. As I've stated some time ago the new Orbx Central is exemplary in design and takes a lot of the headache away of managing multiple products and keeping them updated. So well done on that front team
However - I am just curious as to why download speeds are so slow from Orbx Central but downloading the same file manually (as I did with Google Chrome) makes it scream down the pipe.
NA Pacific Northwest as an example:
- With Orbx Central I'm getting 28.44kb/s (yes..kilo bits)
- With manual download of the same file I'm getting 3MB/s
So while the Orbx download was pottering along I can manual-download 3 or 4 other products and the single download from Orbx Central is still trundling along. Its not a big deal for me because thank goodness for the links to the file itself that we can use our browser to grab. If it wasn't for that then it would be a massive overnight job (leave PC on).
Just wanted to hear others thoughts on why this might be
Me too. We're talking days not hours here. Sounds like you managed to do it manually instead manually. Can you tell me how you did it?

Update: It's now 9:00 am. It appears to have stopped after completing about 80% of the download. Has it crashed? What do I do now?
Anyone?

Me too.
Started downloading True Earth Great Britain South at 5:00 pm. It's 10 pm and It's still going and not even a third the way through. I'm on a mac with a fast broadband connection. Not even DCS is this slow or anywhere near it.
I hope this isn't the shape of things to come, as there are lots of other products I'm considering buying from this company.

So I have to edit the file 'scenery_packs.ini' in a text-editor? Is that the idea? Sorry, this is all new to me.

Hi there.
Thanks but I'm not really with you there. When you say 'above', do you mean as in sub-directory levels, or just above as in the list? Maybe the screenshot of my X-Plane directory would help. The folder with the red dot contains the only mods I made myself. Sometimes a picture is more helpful!

Hi all.
Although I've been using X-Plane for a number of years, I have only just discovered Orbx.!
I've just bought the True Earth Great Britain South pack, and before I start installing, I have a few questions.
I used the WED editor some years ago in order to add a few missing landmarks like hangars and a church to my local area. My question is:
Does the True Earth stuff overwrite those or do I have to remove them first?
If it's the latter, how do I do this?
Other than the above, I'm expecting this to be fairly straightforward on the mac platform. So if anyone can give me any tips for a successful installation, I'd be grateful. I have plenty of disk space.
Simple stuff please – I'm getting on a bit now!
regards
Terence
What is happening with OC download speeds?

It finally completed at 6:30 pm. Tweaking the settings speeded it up slightly. At least it seems to be working ok. (sound of wood being touched).
