Thanks. Sorry I was a bit vague. I haven't managed to get the sim to load with the Orbx TE scenery. Several times it has hung and had to be force-quitted while still in the loading process, and log.txt has been up to 4Gb in size, with what looks like normal stuff to start with but then clearly going into some sort of loop. The sheer size of the file makes it difficult to extract bits out of it because it takes so long to load into a text editor and move around inside it. I'm aware of the importance of scenery_packs.ini, and I've done as much research as I can to understand how it should be set up.

I'll have another go, with the latest XP12 beta version in case that's an issue. If I have the same problems I'll post my scenery_packs.ini file and extract the loop stuff from the log.txt file.

    Thanks again, help much appreciated.

Wow - like Nick says, 4Gb is gargantuan! :o Hopefully you can delete it, have another go and report back.

Just to confirm, I'm running XP12 Beta 8 with all the TE sceneries with no issues (in fact I'm currently on my way from Heathrow to Berlin at FL350!) so hopefully you can get to the bottom of whatever is causing the problem. Again, like Nick says, a support ticket is another option...

  2. I guess the first question has to be what do you mean by "I've not been able to get anything working"? Is the sim loading but you can't 'see' the Orbx TE scenery or some other issue / error?

I've not got a Mac but the process for XP12 is the same as for XP11, i.e. the Custom Scenery folder tells XP where to look for additional scenery files. I'm assuming you've created symbolic links in the XP12 Custom Scenery folder to the folders on your external hard drive and checked that the scenery_packs.ini (located in the Custom Scenery folder) correctly references those locations (albeit with a simlink it is just as simple as providing the local directory name)? If you attach that file to this post then someone can double check everything is referenced and layered (this is also vital for XP scenery!) correctly.

I'd imagine if / when other folks see this post they'll also want to see your log.txt (found in the root XP12 folder) file too to chase any errors if they exist...
