bmaik
Order Number: FSS0359629 Hi to all, I have Orbx FTX with Vector 1.20 and Europe LC 1.15 installed. I run my FSX in Direct X10 Preview Mode, and after installing Orbx FTX I get the well-known black squares Global Style Lighting Error wherever I fire up the simulator. From the Forums I learned that installing Steve's DX10 fixer would resolve the issue, but unfortunately this didn't work for me!!! I have Version 2.7 of Steve's DX10 fixer installed. I have also tried several freeware patches from AVSIM directly replacing the General10fx shader but without success. What else can I try?
Guest
Hi, Make sure to have installed the latest Orbxlibs and enabling FTX Global mode into FTX Central before flying.
Nick Cooper
It seems you have tried both the solutions. Both do indeed make the lighting work as it should. I am afraid that the only reasonable explanation left is that you have not applied either of them correctly. Please find attached a clean copy of the ShadersHLSL folder. I suggest that you delete yours and replace it with this one. Then go to C:\Users\Your name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\FSX and delete the Shaders and Shaders 10 folders. Once you have done this, run FSX in Dx9 mode to ensure that the lighting is properly installed. Then run the Dx10 Fixer and set FSX to run in Dx10 mode. Do not apply any other patches and you should see the lighting as it was intended. ShadersHLSL.zip
Adam Banks
Don't forget to tick the lights option in DX10 Fixer as well!
bmaik
Thanks so far to all of you. Dear Nick, if I replace the ShadersHLSL folder with the one you provided, delete the Shadow10 Folder and run the DX10 fixer the shadow group stays greyed out (as well as Bloom, Rain, Clouds, Water and Other). Strange enough if I use Steve's 3D ShadersFix (Version 3.11) and run setup then indeed the orbx lights are fixed but at the cost that all the rest of the scenery is completely distorted, eg. aprons at international airports completely covered in grass, runways invisible. etc) Additionally if i fire up FSX in DX9 mode, the screen stays completely black. Any suggestions?
bmaik
Dear Nick, the problem is solved, for some unknown reason in the patch options the Orbx Lights Bit was set to 0! Thanks a lot for your help
christiaan
See my compatibility issue with FlyTampa Sydney and Orbx Australia. I have FX9, in my Shader folder there are five folders but in Shader10 compared to your five, am missing Common and Fixed function. The files have the date 2011 when I installed FSX. Do I need to remove Shader folder or the subfolder. I am not an experience FSX expert therefore always wary of changing anything. Read on another forum that an addition to the cfg file also does the same trick. Have made a backup of the folders & FSXc fg file.
Nick Cooper
The ShadersHLSL folder that I have attached is the one in the FSX root folder. You seem to be looking at ShadersHLSL in C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\FSX\Shaders10\ where there are indeed only three folders. As to your problem with the addon airport, it would be my guess that the combination of that and the high density of autogen is pushing your PC beyond its limits. Try turning some of the display settings down.
