MGC
Hi guys. Probably been asked before however, is/are there any problems installing the FTX scenery on a disk other than the drive that FSX is installed on? Thx
Wolter van der Spoel
yes there is, but there is a catch attached to it, we can only give support for installs that are located in their "default" install location, which is the ORBX folder within the fsX, P3D main folder, reason it is for us impossible to figure out all the different install options that could be
MGC
Thx Wolter. Looks like I am going to need a larger SSD ;-)

birdguy
I just did something like that. I had my FSX/Orbx installation on a 250GB SSD and was running out of room. I copied the installation to my 1TB hard drive. Then I removed the 250GB SSD (it was the J drive) and replaced it with a new 500GB SSD. It automatically became the J drive and I formatted it. Then I copied the FSX installation from the 1TB HD to my new 500GB SSD and it worked perfectly. The only time consuming thing about the switch was copying 200GB of data to the HD and then copying it back again. But in each case I do start copying just before I go to bed at night and my morning it's all done. One advantage is that I now have a complete backup of my FSX installation on my 1TB HD. Doug Sawatzky
Or...just use "Acronis" and clone your existing build onto a larger drive....only takes minutes and is far less painful. There is also this free cloning software that works good: http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx
