TheBoom
This tweak definitely made everything look better but unfortunately killed my FPS. I get about 11-16 fps on my test run which is an approach at dusk into Gatwick in the Aerosoft Airbus. The only major difference between your rig and mine is that I have a 4770k at 4.0 ghz. Baffling. patrickjorand
Hi Baffling, As you mentioned in your message, these tweaks are made for those, like me, for enjoy VFR flying over the magnificent ORBX sceneries. The Aerosoft airbus is a FPS killer and it would do the same for me. This is why I fly with less demanding aircrafts (native, majestic Dash, QW Avro) as I do not wish to compromise on the max gamey settings. more specifically scenery. No one can have a combination of max scenery and very demanding aircrafts, we must all balance according to our specs and preferences. Have a nice day Patrick, Geneva. Kinda guessed it was the airbus after all. Thanks for the explanation though. By the way that was not my signature lol. I meant it was a baffling scenario that I couldn't figure out. degeus
Hi Teecee, I am also answering on comments from Michael63 and TymK, after 3 weeks on intensive testings of all values and Prepar3D.cfg and the Nvidia configuration tool. My conclusions of course are in line with my solid bu not higher end PC specs and might not work on all PC.s. With more testings I will certainly also adapt some values. The first culprit to the bad graphic impression we have first in P3D (v2.4) is definitely FXAA which gives a too polished unrealistic graphic, turn it off on your P3D graphic page you will get much more sharp textures. On the same page, I have MSAA 8xsamples, Texture filtering = anisotropic 16x, Texture resolution 4096x4096, Vsync is on with tripple buffering checked, and my target frame rate blocked at 30fps. Remember to replicate the 30fps in the Nvidia cfg tool by selecting Vsinc = half refresh rate for coherence between Nvidia and P3D. In the P3D.cfg file, I have entered Fiber-frame-time-fraction = 0.11, created a new chapter (JOBSCHEDULER) with AffinityMask= 243 (ideal for a quad core Intel CPU with HT on). Under the graffic section, do not forget the old HighMemFix=1 and set texture quality to 6, you will see a huge improvement with your textures. As I am not in front of my P3D PC now, I cannot give more details but will forward my P3D and Nvidia.cfg files tomorrow if someone is interested for more details. Regards, Patrick, Geneva Hello Patrick, Please tell me where I can find the NVIDIA cfg tool. I have a Geforce GTX 760. reg/. Piet de Geus . . Gauthier Malou
Anybody try these settings on P3Dv3 ? I did, because that was the tweak i used on 2.5. So i did put them in v3. But the result was disastrous. The best tweak (for me) in v3. Is no tweak at all except make sure i keep shadows @

a340500
Thanks Guys. So were you able to get clear crisp and sharp scenery in V3 without any tweaks at this stage? My aim is to get my v3 to the same level of performance and eye candy as v2.5 based on the setting in the start of this topic. My v3 is no where near that stage right now as I am still trying to get PFPX, NAVIGRAH AIRAC cycles installed and setup. Once I have done this and tested a pmdg 777 flight successfully, I will embark on trying different setting in the new version to acheive the best performace vs eye candy. Patrick, are you onboard v3 yet or holding off ? If yes, have you achieved similiar results as v2.5 ?

a340500
I thought I would dig around online for P3dv3 tweaks and ran into Rob Ainscough's youtube vid on disabling Ht and the effect on FPX and VAS.. Very interesting.. have a look. >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3W5CeDlRMaQ I then searched some more and found his settings.. http://www.robainscough.com/Prepar3D_Settings_2.html My setup is between his: meduim settings http://www.robainscough.com/P3DV3_Settings_Medium.html and High http://www.robainscough.com/P3DV3_Settings_High.html Hope this helps all who visit this thread for P3Dv3. patrickjorand
Hi guys, I did not upgrade yet to V3, still on 2.6. When upgrading, I always start with no tweaks and try to add them one by one if and when needed. If 3.0 provides the same visual without tweaks that I had in 2.5/2.6 with the tweaks, I would be surprised, but its worth a try. Getting rid of HT would also be an option. I will keep you posted when upgrade has been achieved. Kind regards, Patrick

Since I use your CFG I really get very good improvments but now I have scenery "black spots" like this ones above Can you help me in some way? Do you have any ideia? :/ Thanks
patrickjorand
Hi Pedro, It seems that your textures do not have enough time to load properly. Try to play with the fiberframetimefraction by slightly increasing the value to 0.11, 0.12, 0.13, until you see an improvement. Increasing this value might, as a conter effect, also reduce your FPS, try to find the right balance. Kind regards Patrick

a340500
P3Dv3 Settings update : This thread is one to watch: http://www.simforums.com/Forums/switch-to-p3d_topic53980_page1.html In short, very few tweaks is the name of the game. My personal settings are: In game ANSO x16 + MSAA 8 samples All the other sliders to suite your requirements. Start with full right and work your way backwards for Scenery TAB. Water set to medium is good enough for me. I set textures to 1024 which was good for me visually too. My frames are set to unlimited with G-Sync enabled in both full screen and windowed mode as I have a G-Sync enabled Monitor and GFX card. (see sig) .cfg contains just these settings. [MAIN] HideInfoText=1 still gets rid of all the screen readout junk unless you want it FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.10 to .33 adjustable (mine is 0.10) [SIM] OPTIMIZE_PARTS=1 NO Nvidia Inspector setup at all That's it.. no further tweaks and no DSR setting.
