VivJan
Hope you all have had a good Christmas& are looking forward to a good New Year, we are hoping for an easy solution to this problem, We had clean install of Win7 & FSX, all running smoothly for about 2 weeks, Southampton was installed normally, FSX was started, selected a flight then exited, restarted computer went to Central to check the region, imagine the surprise when 1) there was a list of files in front of central, which now always comes up when FTX is opened, the files are all to do with au scenery, trees, roofs etc, which as the region is not installed is not there as you can see from the scroll bar on the picture it is a long list 2) an icon for Oceania, which is not installed, we have previously installed Aus & NZ, but haven't got round to it this time yet. The latest library file_131215 was put on to see if this made any difference - no. Running FSX is possible for about 10-15 minutes, then FSX crashes with fatal errors or freezes the only way out is the reset button, no difference if flying in Europe or US FTX was set on default when the screenshot was taken, as we had been trying everything, but made no difference, so not really sure if any ORBX area is working correctly now. Any help really appreciated Jan & Viv Hopefully they will let us out of the padded room in time for Easter
Alex Goff
Usually those error messages are indicative of missing the latest libraries or FSX SP2. Since you stated you installed the latest libraries, do you have FSX service pack 2 installed? Regards, Alex
VivJan
As we understand it SP2 isn't used with acceleration, so we haven't ever installed it.
VivJan
Decided to take a leap into the deep end, we installed Aus & we got rid of the list. FTX is working, & currently flying in Aus to see if we get thrown out, 1hr plus & Viv is swopping window views, REX is updating the weather, FSX settings are maxxed out & it is looking ok, fingers crossed, exited FSX & REX with no errors. Phew, seems like we are back smooooth flyin. We are still no wiser as to how the Southampton install messed up FTX, because it was a new install. We don't know where the Oceania icon came from or why it was looking for au scenery files. When we did re-install Aus today it was as a clean install, order details etc. Jan & Viv
Ed Correia
Southampton shipped out with a region file for Australia by mistake, so those without Australia installed would of seen that error. It was fixed by installing the latest Orbxlibs or btw manually deleting the australia.rgn file. It islocated in the ORBX\Scripts\FTXCentral\Regions folder. VivJan
Thanks Ed, but we did install the latest orbxlib & it didn't make any difference. All is ok now, but appreciate you explaining. We love the work ORBX does & for all the help when it gets tricky. Happy New Year to you all
