Thank you Gerold, with your shots from Lord Howe Island, for giving me the idea of flying there myself.

This is my first long flight over the water so I have chosen on old trusted friend to get me there.

Just hope the trip is worth it!

Point of departure is Coffs Harbour.

First time here so I will have a quick look at the hinterland.

A last glimpse of the Australian mainland.

Now nearly 30 years old KDK was the first 340 in the Southern Hemisphere.

Undershooting is not an option here.

With a population of only 348 I think the barbed wire is to keep the few remaining feral goats off the runway.

After my best landing in the SAAB a short taxi to the terminal.

Nice pictures of Coffs (an ad for me...), #6 and #18 are stunners (for different reasons)! The tour takes some time (at least we are not going there with a sailboat - imagine the first settlement).

BTW: thanks for the additional facts about Howe!

Must have been hard then, and we complain now!

Had the same thoughts when I went on my first camping trip, over 40C and I thought then about the old days.

Great Set, the Water is Amazing !!!
