Video which shows how FTX Global layers transform the world

Recommended Posts

The video below was made by an Orbx customer and not at our request. It does not use anything else except Lockheed Martin Prepa3D 1.4 and the FTX Global Iceland Demo. We think as a spontaneous creation by a user of the demo it speaks for itself.

It clearly demonstrates how the three FTX Global layers (Base, openLC and VECTOR), plus FSGlobal 2010 Mesh completely transforms default Iceland to a stunningly realistic landscape.

Soon Orbx will release FTX Global VECTOR in a single installer for the whole world. This will be followed by openLC Europe in December, and openLC North America in Q1 2014, and then five more openLC packs through 2014/15. When we are done you'll have a whole new simulator using just three installers. We like to keep things simple :)

I've also added a link to the Iceland Demo User Guide which explains how the layers work together in much more detail, and I've included the diagram showing the layer structure below.

The Iceland Demo is now availabe for FREE, and two versions exist; one for owners of FTX Global and one for those who don't have it.

To see how your whole planet can be transformed like we did for Iceland, download the demo now from here: http://fullterrain.com/product_ftxgiceland.html

Disclaimer:  Please note that the opening flight in the video shows a photoreal Reykjavik city area. This is NOT part of the three layers of FTX Global, but we added it as a bonus to the Iceland Demo. Please do not expect any photoreal cities or features to be part of the worldwide FTX Global product series. Orbx may release photoreal areas and POIs as freeware or payware in the future.
