VH-KDK Posted October 23, 2013 Share Posted October 23, 2013 Took the Bristol Beaufighter for a flight from Belfast. 1. Ready to go from rwy 22 at George Best Belfast City Airport. 2. Harland and Wolf shipyard. 3. The River Lagan at Stranmillis. 4. 5. Closing in on the Mourne Mountains. 6. Slieve Donard is above the Beaufighter with Newcastle to the left. 7. The inlet is Dundrum Bay with Ballykinler bottom centre. 8. The old airport at Bishopscourt and Strangford Lough. 9. Strangford Lough from the cockpit. 10. Strangford Loch with Mahee Island far right. 11. Close to Holywood with George Best Airport in view. 12. 13. Touch down. 14. All straight vees with minimal cropping. Hope you enjoy. I grew up there, lived in Stranmillis till I was 18, and still go back at least once a year. Stranmillis is the area with the trees to the left of the Lagan.
