VH-KDK
The River Medway flows for 70 miles and has the largest catchment of any river in Southern England. It flows through the North downs at the Medway Gap near Rochester before flowing into the Thames. Taking off from Rochester Airport. Opened in the 1930s and used by Short Brothers where the Stirling bomber was developed and manufactured. Empire and Sunderland flying boats were also built close by. The Medway at Snodland. The estuary. The M20 motorway passing over the Tiger Moth. Not as daring as the Tomcat but you have to start somewhere! The M20 and High Speed Train bridges at Cuxton. Industrial area at Frindsbury. Chatham and Gillingham. The Thames is to the right with the Coryton Oil Refinery in view. The Isle of Grain industrial area which includes a power station and LNG import facility. Britains last recorded case of malaria was here in 1918. The Isle of Sheppey. Queenborough and Halfway Houses. Caravan parks at Eastchurch and Leysdown on sea. A large paper mill is Sittingbournes main employer. Also processing of agricultural products is another large industry. Residential areas are growing as it has good rail links to London. The Medway Estuary.
