VH-KDK Posted February 23, 2013 Share Posted February 23, 2013 Leaving Henstridge Airfield which was a training base for the Fleet Air Arm during WW2. It was commissioned as HMS Dipper. Henstridge is just in the county of Somerset now we are over Dorset. Flying past Shaftesbury which is situated on Cranborne Chase. At 718ft it of one of Englands highest as well as oldest towns. King Canute died here in 1035. Compton Abbas from the north. Coming in to land on 08. Not used to tail draggers and needed the whole runway to stop.
