Approaching historical Winchester with the M3 motorway winding its way through the hills. Leaving Winchester which was the former capital of England. On the River Itchen is New Arlesford, famous for its watercress farms and also a terminus for the Watercress Line(Mid-Hants) heritage railway. Also holds a bi-annual duck race! Four Marks originaly a settlement for Crimean War veterans. On the source of the River Wey is Alton. With an elevation of 115m Alton is the highest town in Hampshire.
