Archie , well my birthday was not long ago and my wife got me a GTX 280 and the PMDG MD11 ) (she knows what I like )) , apart from that a new vid card which replaced a ageing 7950 GX2 which served me very well. WindowsXP sp3 AMD 6000+ x2 dual core unclocked 4 gig of ram Im upgrading MB, CPU , Memory before Xmas , or maby just after, still to decide what il be getting yet. I will probably get Vista 64 bit as well then. On my current setup FSX and FTX runs awesome,(fps locked at 35 and I get that most places) but I can't really fly with the Autogen on any more than dense setting , any more to the right and the cpu struggles in the big citys . YMML uses quite a few fps , but its still very flyable on this rig , the GTX280 upgrade did make a big difference to my fs experience , It allowed me to to run the autogen one click more to right, and the visual clarity and sharpness is great, on my old vid card 'normal setting was my limit. btw im running the lastest 178.24 drivers for my vid card.
