RobdeVries
At www.flightsim.cz, there is a new little aircraft called the Orličan L-40 Meta Sokol Derived from the Mraz M.1D Sokol, the Meta-Sokol was of metal construction. Originally built by CZA (Ceskoslovenske Zavody Automobilove) the L-40 was equipped with a reverse tricycle undercarriage. Early models seated three and were powered by a 105hp(78kW) Walter, but the majority of aircraft constructed were four seaters. Some of the later models were fitted with wingtip tanks for extended range. Production ended in 1961. A small number remain airworthy. Comparable to the e.g. Socata Ralley. Made a little flight, took some pics, found some real world pics and see some Oz repaints coming.. Source airliners.net Where...?
