jaydor
New Ga aircraft are starting to have fitted to the wing, a new type of light called a recognition light. There is no legislation in any regulation at the moment with regard to them. They are not part of the landing light configuration and nothing to do with logo lighting. I ask the question as other than ask Pilatus themselves, maybe someone here has the correct answer. Here is a screenshot of the light on; the landing /taxi lighting is fitted to the landing gear and extinguished seperatly and this light has its own seperate switch.. the only information I have gathered so far is this quote from another forum: "Quote" Recog lights are there to increase your visibility to aircraft or birds in front of you, so any time you are in a situation where it would be helpful to increase your visibility, that's when you use them. I usually turn them on at the start of the takeoff roll with the landing lights, and leave them on for the first 3000' of the climb, longer in high density airspace. Not all recog lights blink. end.. As a simmer only I have decided to follow the quoters rule., Would appreciate any further information.. James
