jjjallen
The ORBX Lancair is one of those FSX planes that no review (as excellent as this one was) can do justice to. The thing that I really appreciate is how well the Lancair performs within the limits of FSX. This is where other premier planes fall short IMO. CoolP
I had expected some longer texts on the details but the outcome of that review is more than correct in my eyes. A true GA jewel from the OrbX guys, a benchmark for detailed single engine payware in that sector too. Does it fail at some aspects? No. Can we expect even more? Yes, some VC rain and new lighting in SP1 (as stated by Jarred). My first sentence sounds too bad, I think. I was just looking for the extra work on the flight model to be mentioned (Alexander did a great job there and his name will truly be a known one in the community) and maybe some side notes on the modeled pressurization and even cockpit temperatures, that's all. Maybe one could stress the fact that patch 1.1 enables the popups and some fixes but doesn't come with the current download version (don't know about the DVD though). As I saw some guys in the forums flying 1.0 only and wondering where those options are, another side note on the 1.1 test basis could be helpful. Don't get me wrong, this review is very good, Bert. Virtualwombat
Yes, it sure looks good but I have so many other planes that have similar functionality (small, fast GA) that I'm struggling to find a compelling reason to get the credit card out this time. Cheers, Noel.

If you're referring to the Eaglesoft planes, they don't even come close to touching the Lancair. It is far above and beyond any other similar type of plane for FSX. Just get it, you won't regret it! herky1955
If any one is interested in the Reality Xp Garmin 530. I have installed it into the Orbx Lancair without the extra cost of the N guages. You also get to keep the Orbx "Sandal" guage and the Stec. Have a look at the post here;- http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/55437-reality-xp-530-and-the-lancair/ BTW. I have flown (own) both Orbx Lancair iv-p and the "rival" Lancair Legacy and the Orbx aircraft is the one I will be flying in the GA hangar. Just take a very close look at the graphic quality on the external fuselage of the two models? Who HD's wins. Regards David

redduke
I installed Reality's 530 GNS in the Lancair and now the autopilot is gone. Any ideas how to fix this?
herky1955
I installed Reality's 530 GNS in the Lancair and now the autopilot is gone. Any ideas how to fix this? I used the "Empty Radios" selection in the Lancair Options Settings Control Panel. I can only say it works in my setup and as you can see by my videos on You Tube it does work. I have not used the RXP option. Have look at my cfg file. it all works in my system. http://www.orbxsyste...nd-the-lancair/ Re my OP. Just to be clear here are the full edits. There was an omission in the OP of the Radar Altimeter (sn3308). So here is what is in my fully working Orbx Lancair with Garmin 530 and Orbx Stec guage and autopilot!
