The team over at FlightsimulatorXWorld have written a comprehensive review of FTX AU RED and awarded it full marks, finding nothing negative to say about it all.

"The reason that I love Orbx products more than photoreal products is that photoreal products usually rely on satellite images to make their products. The major downside of this is that you need to fly at higher altitudes for ground objects to be sharp, at lower altitudes ground objects are blurry looking. Orbx products are designed so that ground objects are sharp looking at all altitudes, even ground level. Like the Gold Region reviewed earlier, Orbx has done an excellent job with all aspects of this scenery and will give the flight simulator pilot many hours of exploration and enjoyment."
