Came across this - and I am delighted that some of us on here are old enough to have actually been on this since the beginning

 

My start was with the Commodore 64

 

I don't think I'll ever complain about MSFS 2020 ever again.

I was introduced to Bruce Artwicke's FSII on the Amiga, with marginally better graphics than the above example, and streets ahead of the monochrome wire frame pc version my friend proudly showed me. 

 

Although the evolution of the genre has been incremental, the introduction of virtual cockpits, track IR and recently VR and MSFS world scenery have been the revolutionary jumps that kept the sim as real as it gets for so many years.
