LYPG is located in of the few flat areas of the country that is more known for its rugged mountainous terrain and is one of the two international airports for Montenegro, serving the capital city of Podgorica. Referred to Golubovci Airport by locals, LYPG sees regular services by European airlines like Ryanair, Wizz Air, Austrian Airlines and Transavia as well as the national carrier, Air Montenegro. The airport offers a challenging circle-to-land visual approach to RWY18 as well as a stunning VOR/NDB approach to RWY36 that takes you over Lake Skadar at low-level. Rasha delivers a highly detailed, up to date and optimised airport add-on with plenty of features airside and landside. The recently built terminal is an all-glass and aluminium structure that has been beautifully modelled inside and out. PBR materials, LOD optimisation, sloped runway, dynamic lighting, complete AI integration and custom terrain edits round out this superb effort by Rasha. TigerTigerM Posted May 12, 2022 Share Posted May 12, 2022 My Sim budget has been overwhelmed by the recent plethora of aircraft releases. But Podgorica has the mountains, tricky approaches & runway lengths that can take the 737 & 146 & MD-82. I like the little touches - shot 9 down, the tractor pulling the luggage carts, & shot 10, the pink flowers in the shrubbery. I don't recall seeing colored shrubs before, but they add to the beauty of the site. The terminal interior is tastefully executed. & there appears to be a military presence in the vicinity of the airfield. All in all an, interesting airport & location.
