Adam Sutton
Hi team, Hoping for some help here please. Just flew UUEE to EGLL. Over Germany I noticed the ground textures were a little blurry. This got progessively worse as I approached London. Attached is a photo at 7000'. I have noticed the terrain below autogen is often slow to load, but today it was extremely bad. I use Lorby and also regularly sync via Orbx Central. My Orbx airports are below third party airports, and openLC is as default. All antivirus exceptions are there too. my specs; i9-9900k, RTX2080ti, 32gb ram Thanks in advance, Adam
Doug Sawatzky
Hi Adam What happens if you pause the sim for a minute or two while in the above pictured scenario? Do the textures clear up?
Adam Sutton
Hi Doug, Thanks for the reply. Yes, pausing will result in the scenery slowly creeping past - i can then watch it almost like a slideshow. BTW, my settings are all medium/high range- ive got nothing maxxed out. In some other scenerios, ill see autogen, but the base texture will be blurry to a degree. This eventually tidies up, but it too is quite slow. Doug Sawatzky
Thanks Are you using a PMDG aircraft by chance?
Adam Sutton
Nope, aerosoft in this instance, and further testing with the default F16
Doug Sawatzky
Are you using SSD drive for the simulator? Either way, it is not a problem with the scenery, but there is an issue with your PC keeping up to what is being asked of it.
Adam Sutton
Yes it's on an SSD, Over 1Tb free space. And I respectfully disagree. If the PC can handle Sydney or LA nicely, there's no reason it crumbles this bad over London (no other city addons). If 4.68ghz on my pc is enough for other areas it should be here too, right ? I am well aware of not overloading. This has also recently started up after years of no trouble.
Adam Sutton
Vanilla settings - issue is still there.
Doug Sawatzky
How fast and at what altitude are you flying the fighter jet? Maybe try a Cessna 150 or 172 for some lower and slow flights. Ya, London has always been extremely hard on PC's, even the default London back in day was always complex, and now along with a complex aircraft and higher speeds... If it clears up with the sim paused as you have stated above, confirms there is nothing wrong with the scenery. Maybe there is other stuff your PC is trying to do in the background as well?
