No Dissension in the Ranks ......

Not saying that the peanut gallery is objecting to my postings  and not

to name names, but you know who you are  @BradB

Just the two...

One of my favourite airlines of all time.  I used to travel on them a lot in times past and their service was
just unbelievable.

How many airlines today, greet you by name, remember the name of your wife and ask how the family
is.  Didn't have to ask for my favourite malt ... it just arrived straight up as I enjoy it.

Makes one nostalgic.

Darn Pete , I was going to sneak in and catch a peak of these two beautiful shots ; but you caught me .......B):):(

It's OK John

My eyes were closed and I think I missed you.

I call it a short "power nap". My wife calls it "nodding off again! "

All the best and thank you.

I am pleased you enjoyed them , even though I missed the experience:D

Indeed they did R but I never saw one here and my poor memory cannot recollect seeing one when I lived in England. Luckily they live on today in our sims!

Thanks Martyn.  A very interesting read indeed.

They were extremely fortunate

Love those ground reflections.

They do turn out well.

Makes me realize how much modern lighting engines have progressed in recent years.

Though ,  I'm thinking to paraphrase the song  "you ain't seen nothin yet" by Bachman-Turner Overdrive wait to see

MS2020 as it  moves over to DX12.  :)

Techniques available in DX12  like mesh shading , variable rate shading and variable rate supersampling and the concepts around Sampler feedback improve

performance significantly and reduce gpu overhead. This then gives developers optionality for greater realism from technologies

like global illumination  and ray tracing (shadows, reflections, lighting).

These concepts also exist within the Vulkan API , but it is my understanding that the techniques are not "bolt on" i.e. the lighting engine and how it impacts with the rendering engine all have to work in concert which usually involves new coding architecture.

It's all about implementing next generation techniques without impacting performance.

MS2020 is new and certainly has its fair share of niggles , but the lighting engine is written to  implement these  technology concepts which is for me very exciting.

I've mentioned this before to several friends. "I got MS2020 not so much for what it is today, but for the potential for what it can become tomorrow"

We are very fortunate to live in such interesting times.

Cheers & thank you. It is appreciated
