Nick Staib
I too have this problem. My Santa Barbara buildings disappeared. Other Orbx scenery bought via the MS portal seems fine. This one, bought directly via the Orbx Central utility, is the only one to have gone, despite the relevant "Orbx-airport-ksba-santa-barbara" folder being clearly visible in my FS Community folder. And Orbx central confirms it is installed. I tried renaming the community folder to community.x then moving JUST the santa barbara folder into a new community folder but that didn't help. I will now try deleting the KSBA airport (using Orbx central) creating a new community folder as above and rebooting from scratch. Fingers crossed.... Nick Staib
Just to advise that doing the above, i.e. deleting KSBA then rebooting and re-installing it into a newly created Community folder did not help. Still no buildings visible. Disappointing, to put it mildly. Any further suggestions will be gratefully received, as that empty space is summing up 2020 far too well! Jon Clarke
Your issue needs to be a new posting please as this post was about KSBA and was resolved. In the meantime what is the size of the KSBA folder you have? It should be Size on Disk= 175 MBB 228 Files 8 Folders. Please confirm. I will answer your response when you make a new post. Thanks. Happy New Year to you as well You can just Start a New Topic and cut and paste this script and then post it.
Nick Cooper
Hello, I have split this and made a new topic.
Nick Staib
Thank you Nick C for creating a new topic, for me. Thank you Jon, for replying. When I check the properties of the "Orbx-airport-ksba-santa-barbara" folder I have 229 Files (not 228), 8 Folders and size is 175 MB. The airport is version 1.0.1 At present it is is the only folder in my Community Folder. That folder location is on my E:Drive within the Flight Simulator folder, which is the only folder on the SSD. Nick Cooper
Hello, those should be the only requirements for this to work. Unless there could be a conflicting addon product that is installed into the OneStore folder of course.
Nick Staib
Hi Nick, That is what I would expect. I really don't have that much else in the OneStore folder yet. Ignoring the asobo*, fs-base*, and microsoft* folders, addons are limited to: Orbx (EGLC, London Landmarks, and KORS) aerosoft (st tropez) bt (Kitfox) Carenado (M20R)
Jon Clarke
Keep the KSBA in the Community folder. Open the Options Settings /Data of MSFS and delete the Rolling Cache file as illustrated in the attached pic Ensure that Photogrametry and Bing Data are enabled
Nick Staib
Thank you Jon. I have deleted the rolling cache file by clicking on the Delete button. (You mentioned an attached pic, but I couldn't see it). Then I re-booted the game. Bing and photogrammetry data were already on. No luck. No buildings visible, see attached pic I also attach a screenie of my DATA settings. These I believe are default, but one of a number of MSFS updates may have changed things. I'm not sure what the red bar means, but in any event having installed all the KSBA files, I would expect them to work... Any further suggestions? carlosqr
Hello May I suggest this? It worked for me with the same situation though it was not an Orbx product It might work for you I would uninstall KSBA Then follow the instruction Open and close the sim Then install KSBA Then test Cheers Carlos
Nick Cooper
Hello, also it might be a good idea to disable the rolling cache while testing, as it is quite likely to store data that obstructs any changes made. I am not sure of the benefits of a cache, I have not used one at all and seen no ill effects. I wonder if there are in fact quite a few features that are aimed at the X Box, rather than being actual requirements.
Nick Staib
Hi Carlos Thank you for your kind suggestion. uninstall KSBA - done Delete Content.xml - done (Content.xml not actually deleted but renamed to Content.xml.bakup and removed from folder to desktop) Open and close the sim - Done Install KSBA - Done Then test - Done - no change Hi Nick I deleted the Rolling Cache again and then set it to OFF and "Applied and Saved" Quit and Restarted the sim Still no change... Nick Staib
Interestingly the Content Manager in MSFS shows KSBA SANTA BARBARA MUNI AIRPORT as installed as a Community folder (and on Version 1.0.1), as does the Orbx central installer in the My Products tab. Nick Staib
Gents - if there are no other obvious solutions, is it time to delete the KSBA added directly from Orbx Central and try installing via the MSFS game itself? I appreciate I would have to pay again, although a credit or discount from Orbx would be a nice gesture. Would that even work - or would that just complicate things further? Cheers
Nick Staib
Hello again. I just thought I'd nudge Jon or anyone else for a further comment to my reply which I posted on Saturday. Is there anything else I can do troubleshoot this, or should I just accept that the Santa Barbara scenery only lasted for a few glorious weeks, and then vanished?! The only reason I am persisting, is that in that short time I had also created at least a dozen Navigraph flight plans in and out of KSBA. Cheers, Nick
Nick Cooper
Hello, there must be a solution but it evades us at the moment. This doesn't mean that we have given up.
carlosqr
Hi Nick Staib I was searching in other forums for KSBA issues but no one seems to have reported any I would like to propose the following 01.- Rename your community folder to whatever you want 02.-Create a community folder with nothing inside 03.-Delete your Content.xml again 04.- Clear the rolling cache. 05.- Close the sim 06.- Open Central and install KSBA, then close 07.-Open MSFS and test, do not install anything else just this one 08.- If worked, then you have two options. First close the sim A.- Copy all content in the renamed folder to the new community folder (except KSBA) and then test again it is yet fine B.- Copy back one by one and test after each inclusion Note on A: If it doesn't work then some of your addons is causing this, then you would have to moved all back out of the folder, start the sim and then close and then do step B It happened to me that a buddy here made MROC a very good free version but my sim never loaded it. Never, ever. I had to do as explained here, took everything in the folder and only leave MROC and it worked. Now I have everything back coexisting. What happened? Not a single clue. It's an odd behavior. I hope this works for you Cheers Carlos
Nick Cooper
Hello, Carlos, thanks for that. This topic is split from another, in which that step has already been tried but it can do no harm to do it again. I have also observed another apparently odd behaviour, where MSFS does not write a new product or mod into the Content.xml file until the second time that it is started with that new content in the Community folder. Once again, this does not seems to be consistent.
Nick Staib
Hi Carlos/Nick Indeed. I don't think it's a conflict with another third party add-on as, following the troubleshooting suggestions last week, I'm still ONLY flying with a newly created community folder into which I had re-downloaded from Central the Orbx ksba folder, after clearing the rolling cache. I suppose I just keep praying to Santa Barbara, hoping it will suddenly work. But I will do the above steps again and report back.
Nick Staib
Right. As half suspected this did not work (having already been tried). Steps taken... Community folder renamed New Community folder created content.xml deleted I had already switched rolling cache off but cleared it. Sim closed Open Orbx Central and re installed KSBA, then closed Open MSFS and test with nothing else added to the Community folder Buildings are still not there. I also include, for what it's worth, the newly created content.xml with ksba visible at the bottom: <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-c53-lowerloon"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-cytz-billy-bishop"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-czst-stewart-aerodrome"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-eidl-donegal"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-fxme-maketane"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-huen-entebbe"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-kase-aspen"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-kdfw-dallas-fort-worth"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-keb-nanwalek"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-kjfk-new-york-jfk"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-klax-losangeles"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-kmco-orlando"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-ksea-seattle-tacoma"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-ksez-sedona"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-kswf-stewartintl"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-ktex-telluride"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-lfcs-saucats"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-lflj-courchevel"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-lfpg-paris-charles-de-gaulle"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-lowi-innsbruck"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-lpma-madeira"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-lxgb-gibraltar"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-mhtg-toncontin"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-mrsn-sirena-station"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-nzqn-queenstown"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-rjtt-tokyo-haneda"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-rjx8-suwanosejima"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-rokr-kerama"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-rors-shimojishima"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-sbgl-riodejaneiro"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-seqm-mariscal-sucre-quito"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-spgl-chagual"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-tffj-gustaf"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-tncs-saba"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-vnlk-lukla"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-vqpr-paro"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-wx53-bugalaga"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-yssy-sydney"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-cameras"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-jetways"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-liveevent"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-modellib-airport-generic"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-modellib-buildings"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-modellib-props"/> <Package active="true" name="fs-base"/> <Package active="true" name="fs-base-ai-traffic"/> <Package active="true" name="fs-base-coverage-map-japan-tin"/> <Package active="true" name="fs-base-nav"/> <Package active="true" name="fs-base-ui-vr"/> <Package active="true" name="microsoft-airport-katl-atlanta"/> <Package active="true" name="microsoft-airport-kfhr-friday-harbor"/> <Package active="true" name="microsoft-airport-rjck-kushiro"/> <Package active="true" name="microsoft-airport-rjfu-nagasaki"/> <Package active="true" name="microsoft-airport-rjth-hachijojima"/> <Package active="true" name="microsoft-event"/> <Package active="true" name="microsoft-japan-point-of-interest"/> <Package active="true" name="microsoft-usa-point-of-interest"/> <Package active="true" name="Orbx-airport-kors-orcas-island"/> <Package active="true" name="aerosoft-airport-lftz-sttropez"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-eham-amsterdam"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-fact-cape-town"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-heca-cairo"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-kord-chicago-ohare"/> <Package active="true" name="asobo-airport-lemd-adolfo-suarez"/> <Package active="true" name="Orbx-airport-eglc-london-city"/> <Package active="true" name="Orbx-landmarks-london-city-pack"/> <Package active="true" name="Orbx-airport-ksba-santa-barbara"/> Picture for interest

Nick Staib
Thanks Carlos. I'm sure it IS up to date. The Content Manager has zero updates available. And Windows updates automatically. Having said that, it's not entirely obvious to me where I can double check the actual version number of MSFS, either from in game or from file explorer... Do you know if the current KSBA folder that comes from Orbx Central is an identical version to the one served via the marketplace? Cheers

Jon Clarke
Your problem seems rather unique. Most reports saying that buildings don't appear etc are resolved via the methods/actions already advised here in this topic. Seeing your new Content.xml, please move the Orbx KSBA file to the top of the file from the bottom where it currently sits. Worth a try while we scratch our heads to try and offer a further suggestion.

Nick Staib
Yes, indeed we are, Carlos. I too experienced yesterday's update and hoped my prayers had been answered. But not, alas, this time... Yesterday, as a test, I had bought and installed another scenery (the Creative Mesh 3U2 Bush strip) having first flown the default. When I then launched a flight from that strip I was unimpressed, so decided to re-boot the game. This was when the MSFS update option kicked in. When MSFS finally opened and I checked its Content Manager it prompted me to download the bush strip again which I did and all was well, inserting buildings, static planes and tents etc. KSBA also showed itself to be installed, in the Content Manager, but as before no airport buildings are visible in game. I barely remember what default KSBA looked like, but are those strange unconnected airbridges/gates and the red cargo containers (my post on Thursday refers) part of the default airport or part of the Orbx airport? Cheers, Nick
Nick Cooper
Hello, I have finally managed to replicate your problem. I did so by disabling KSBA Santa Barbara Municipal Airport\Community\orbx-airport-ksba-santa-barbara\scenery\Orbx\KSBA\modelLib.BGL. Please check that you have that file, in that location, with that name and with these attributes.

Nick Cooper
Hello, the file structure looks to be fine. I confess that I am at a loss as to how or why we can apparently simply install the same files and see the entire airport and yet you can apparently do the same and see no KBUR library objects. The only remaining unchecked possibility is something in your OneStore folder that is inhibiting it.
