Popular Post Orbx
They say good things comes to those that wait and we are finally pleased to announce that EGNT Newcastle International Airport is close to release. Not only for the X-Plane but also for Microsoft Flight Simulator! Newcastle International Airport is located north of the university city of Newcastle Upon Tyne in the North East of England. Once an industrial superpower of the shipbuilding era Newcastle has now transformed into a buzzing cultural hub. Over 5 million visitors a year pass through the doors from leisure routes operated by narrow-body jets to Las Palmas & Santorini and long-haul visits to Dubai in a 777-300ER. This is the perfect airport for those wanting something a bit more regional, but with an international appeal. The 7,600ft runway provides quite the challenge when operating those heavier aircraft, especially during the typical rainy weather of the north of England. Our UK team based in Havant (LOWG Graz, KSJC San Jose, EGLC London City and many more) have taken care and attention when developing Newcastle International Airport. With high-quality texture work throughout and plenty of features to enjoy, Newcastle is a great addition to the UK set of airports for both X-Plane and Microsoft Flight Simulator. Both versions feature: Detailed and stunning PBR texturing Ultra-high quality modelling work throughout Stunning 3D modelling Custom ortho Highly detailed GSE and static aircraft Enjoy these screenshots from both platforms! eaim
Day 1 purchase for me, initially for MSFS, then possibly the other sims at a later date. Christmas might just be arriving early, now all I need is to get my next gen GPU...... somehow.
eaim
One quick question. Is the runway slightly sloped as in real life for the MSFS or Xplane version?

It is not Orbx' habit to release incomplete airports. I have counted 5 screenshots above in which the GA apron and area can be seen. Terrylawdinn
Thanks - as you can see I'm a bit of a newbie here but I didn't think Orbx would NOT do it, it's just that it's my home airport and I actually founded and built the GA Terminal! The freebie addons have tried but not made a very good job of it. I know it can be seen, but it can also be seen in the standard sim from the main apron. Was just asking someone, maybe from Orbx, to confirm is all.
Ed Correia
The entire airport is modelled. I’ll make sure to add them to the product pages.

makapala
I really hope that this includes some landmarks for Newcastle because FS2020 is PANTS for that.. not even the Tyne Bridge or Millenium Bridge and Sage! David, Newcastle

David, Newcastle I think it will need a cityscape add-on for that.... Whether anyone does one is a different matter. On a slightly different note, I can see my house in Seaton Delaval ;-)

Terrylawdinn
Me too! Obviously, though, they've had to probably do a little "tweaking" following the latest update. I'm prepared to be patient to make sure it works properly "out of the box".

CptJackSparra
Disappointed that the preview video from Orbx advertised the inclusion of Newcastle City centre with bridges, however it certainly does not! Only realised after my purchase.
