JEP795
Hello, I see on a pinned post that the two don't communicate, but I have a question regarding it and an example of how maybe the two could work. Just wanted to drop a suggestion/comment based on what I've seen and to bring something I noticed to your attention in case you didn't know. If it's not possible, then no worries! Thanks for all you do! Here's what I noticed: I have two Add-Ons from another developer which I purchased through the Marketplace. I will not mention names, but they use contrail to activate/update products bought directly through them. Despite, not having purchased the scenery directly through them and activating it through Contrail, I am still able to see that I own the sceneries and manage them through contrail. It seems as if contrail is reading it as a legitimate copy from the MSFS content folder. Not sure if something similar would be possible through Orbx Direct in that your software would be able to communicate and recognize content from the MSFS content folder and updates could be pushed through there. Thanks, Jonathan

I wasn't sure if I was allowed to name them here. Do you think it's possible for Orbx to implement a similar functionality? Ed Correia
I spoke with Lars (Contrail developer) and he confirmed that it does validate based on assumptions of the product being installed by MSMP. As to updates he did mention that they are disabled as MS have DRM on those products and there’s a possibility that if overwritten by non-DRM files issue may arise. Unless the validated purchase is re-installed from Contrail into the Community folder. We will consider if it’s something worthwhile doing with OC.
