Casualclick
I'm getting a hang of the AEC, I did find Sedona (SDX, KSEZ) was incorrectly flattened and sitting inside a crater which I saved as a profile. Question - what to do about bush strips like C53 (Lower Loon) which don't appear in the elevation corrections list for Vector? Thanks! Edited: this is default airstrip in FSX:SE. It is also featured in the Mountain Flying Mission that comes with the base program. It's not a freeware or payware airfield.
Nick Cooper
Hello, if an ICAO code does not appear in the Vector AEC list, then Vector cannot be the cause of an elevation error inside the boundary of that airport. C53 is not a default airstrip in the copies of FSX, FSX-SE or P3D v4 that I have.
Casualclick
Hi Nick, What are your thoughts on this ticket - I believe you were involved? This is the same airstrip. Is the solution still to purchase and install Central Rockies? Thanks, -Armando Heredia
Casualclick
To recap: C53 Lower Loon is simply a rough airstrip in the mountains. It's part of default FSX and FSX:SE Scenery. It's also featured in the Beginner Missions that MS built with the FSX base product. Installing Global and Vector, the strip is now in a crater, so there's an elevation mis-match. From the old thread that I found above, it appears that this could be fixed by installing Central Rockies? Yes? No? Please advise. Thanks.
Nick Cooper
Lower Loon Creek seems to have the name ID67 in FSX. Vector does have an AEC for ID67. It does not help much with the location of the airport. This is what I am seeing: ID67 plus Vector, AEC enabled ID67 Vector AEC disabled ID67 in CRM
Casualclick
Thanks sir. I'll try the correction. Is ID67 an internal code to FSX? If there is a look-up table I could use, that might be useful to me to try corrections as I encounter them.
Nick Cooper
I used the search for stock airports in the Airport Design Editor. I searched for the name, rather than the code.
