Jake_a24
Whenever i have the London Landmarks pack, i always without a doubt crash to my desktop. No information is given. It resolves itself when i delete it.
Th3Scop3DJ
I have only EGLC installed without the City pack. Before it wasn't an issue but now I get the same CTD. I "only" have 16 GB ram and when I looked, 97% was in use. Could be a RAM issue try turning your settings down maybe that'll help?
Seanmo
I actually have the same issue as Jake. I plan to soon go to 32GB anyway, so if that is the fix I'm good. It is the only CTD I've had with MSFS so far. Note that it happens only when I try to go to London to fly and not when I am elsewhere, even if London is installed. Jake_a24
Yeah, that's the same with me. I'm getting a new CPU and Mb, as well as 32GB of 3400MHz RAM
Nick Cooper
Hello, I had always understood that the Windows paging file was there for it to use when there was no more physical RAM available, in order to prevent such problems. Could it be that this is set too small or disabled altogether? "System Managed" is by far the best setting.
Yardstick
I'm beginning to suspect the crashes I'm also getting with the London packs (Airport and Scenery) are RAM related. I have a pretty reasonable system (RTX2070S) and run at Ultra settings with avg FPS in the 30s but only have 16gb of RAM. The only time I get the crashes are in and around Central London and these started after I installed the Orbx packs (had 30+ hrs of stable gameplay prior to that). I also noticed that the game was v. close to maxing out my RAM and have played around with the page file size but to no avail. I've ordered another 2x 8gb sticks to see if that solves the problem. Yardstick
Turns out it was me hitting my 16gb RAM limit. Increasing the page file limit didn't solve the issue. However, when I turned down the detail to High from Ultra, it solved the CTD. Might be worth the admins noting for future ref or to add a note to the product description that if you want to run at Ultra (i.e. 4K textures) and use these packs you need 32gb of RAM. High and 16gb seems OK though. Not sure why for me uninstalling the packs didn't solve the CDT issue but all's well etc... BTW: City Airport with live traffic is the wild west - no flight disciple and aircraft buzzing around like swarming ants. Time to learn VATSIM me thinks. Nick Cooper
Hello, is that live traffic, or is it multiplayer at work? You can easily disable multiplayer, if it is. Given the present situation, live traffic should not be busy.
Jake_a24
It's definitely a RAM issue, and thankfully i've found a fix for those 16GB RAM users out there. So when loading in and running the game, i know that it nearly tops out my RAM usage. So, a good fix is to Cache the scenery, within the simulator (essentially download london onto your system, so it doesn't have to stream it, which takes up more RAM. So, like i said, if you go to the "Data" option, within "General" settings, scroll to the bottom and you should see the option to cache the scenery. This now tops out my RAM at ~13GBs. Hope this helps.
Yardstick
Interesting - not sure why cached scenery would use less RAM than downloading it on the fly, data is data. I just threw more RAM at it, when I saw the specs for FS2020, I always thought I would need to add more.
Saucey
Hi, I’ve just bought the London landmarks pack through the market place. I let the pack download through the in game market place, then the game freezes. After relaunch, it freezes on the update spinning wheel. Remove the folder for the add on and I’m good to go again. Have 32gb ram and have spent a solid 20hrs in sim, no issues till now. Help anyone?
Nick Cooper
Hello, welcome to the forums. Microsoft are apparently working on their Marketplace. I truly wish that we could help you with this, but we have no control over their product delivery system. Here is the latest update from Orbx.
