Unable to install Leeds Bradford Airport in to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020

Recommended Posts

Hi

I am new to Orbx and have just purchased Orbx Leeds Bradford airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. I have tried to install the add-on however it refuses to install. It appears to be looking for a P3D installation although the version that I purchased was explicitly designed for the new Microsoft Flight Simulator. I have exited  Orbx central and tried again. This time, I can't see the purchase that I made a few minutes ago. I am now totally confused. I can't email Orbx directly to obtain support as there are no contact details to use. Orbx appear to want support requests to be channelled through this forum. I would be grateful for any help that I can get from anyone on this forum. Could someone explain who I should be talking to at Orbx to get this issue resolved ? Apologies if I have miss posted but I'm concerned that, having made a valid purchase, I can't see it, can't install it and have no means of contacting Orbx to try to resolve the issue. Many thanks, Ed

Hi Nick, thanks so much for getting back to me. I have just tried again and have to say i'm finding this system all very confusing. I have Orbx system open and I'm logged in. The first time that I checked, Leeds does appear but it appears as a Prepar3D V4 file not a Flight Simulator version. When I tried to install it, it regused again. I disconnected and tried again. I checked my account and my products, but this time I can't see any licensed software allocated to me. If I search for Leeds, I I can see a link to Leeds Bradford airport but this shows that it needs to be purchased and its at a cheaper price, (£8.20 UK pounds!). I just don't understand it. Have I somehow managed to purchase the Prepar3D version rather than the flight simulator 2020 version ? I'm just completely confused ! And the price for the microsoft simulator version seems a lot cheaper than the price that I paid online last night. receipt.thumb.JPG.74ad08feb138b722056efb40b2b9cf21.JPG

Is it possible to reset everything back to scratch, get Orbx to issue a refund for the product purchased yesterday and for me to try again ? Many thanks for your help, Ed

Hi Nick, many thanks for getting back to me. Yes, I think you are absolutely right. I have just logged out then logged back in and checked my purchases and the software is definitely for P3D rather than MS. I'll do what you recommend and send a support ticket to Richard. All the best and again, with grateful thanks for your brilliant support, Ed314485686_ORBXIssue.thumb.JPG.b9af54bb8e347fabc2c07e578ae155c8.JPG

Hi Nick, I just wanted to spend a few minutes this evening to send you a big note of thanks for your help and support. Richard has had a look at things and it looks like the version that I received was for P3D rather than MFS. Richard is arranging a refund and I have just purchased the MFS version. I can't activate it at the moment as I am waiting for CCL in Bradford to send me an SSD which I will use to host MFS and my add ons. My C: drive is running at 93% !! It looks like that won't be until mid September.  Anyway, at least I will be able to look forward to taking off and landing at Leeds Bradford. So, many many thanks and I will look forward to being part of the forum as I continue with other Orbx products. All the best, Ed
