Another flight to the footsteps of Jean Marc

It seems to be I take good profit of the inspiration in this forum currently... thank you, @jean marc !

A huge amount of supplies needed to be carried to a short runway made of sand - so a robust freight plane was chartered from Djibouti.

Not an easy landing, as the runway is not really visible. At least the C-17 is veeery slow here.

What a great tour Gerold :) And I am very proud to be in 2 post titles

Tarso-Toon shot is great ! It is the most spectacular of the Tibesti Mountains according to Wilfred Thesiger who visited the area in 1938 ... taking care with the rebels Toubous guerrilla...

You could go back to SO Egypt at Gilf Kebir ... The English Patient 's rock cave place ... beautiful mountains ... take care to not be lost or without gaz many accidents bythere ... also with the sandwind - a terribly story by this link http://aviateurs.e-monsite.com/pages/de-1939-a-1945/morts-de-soif-dans-le-desert.html

this place is very remote and beautiful ... sand sand sand ...

You know so much about the Inuit life - and obviously about the African desert areas, Jean Marc! Outstanding. I just cannot follow all of your ideas - we need to spread this amongst the folks here!

Fantastic, great scenery and I love that plane!

Thank you Jack. The C-17 is not as detailed as our QW or PMDG planes, but can be used very well for IFR flying and landing on small and remote places. BTW, she looks ... good!

More beautiful features of Africa shown here in a tandem post.

Well done Gerold and Jean Marc.

Thank you Martyn. Indeed you make a point: Jean Marcs detailed feedback really makes this a tandem post!

Another great tour of Africa, Gerold. Thanks for putting these posts together.

Thank you Ebo. I am sure your screenshots will show us some of the many gaps I leave in my rough tour over the continent?
