Stillwater
Windhoek is the capital of one of the driest countries in the world. Not by chance Namibia is named after a desert, the Namib. And, as I was happy to read yesterday, even the dried Etosha pan will be visualized as a dry lake in the next upgrade of OLC Africa. Lake Oponono shows some limits in Vector data, but is still recocnizable. The vegetation changes over Angola´s coastland. Uh, my flightplan goes over the Atlantic, with no Orbx scenery ! But not too long, here we see the mouth of mighty River Congo. Lac Onongue, what a great shape. Crossing the nearby Ogooue river... ... on the way to Libreville. After reaching Cameroon we descend over the rainforests of Douala Nature Reserve. Douala is one of the cities with the highest annual rainfall of this planet. A perfect place for North German pilot to spend some time!

OLC Africa is a real pleasure to discover... and learn! 2 hours ago, Jack Sawyer said: Very cool Gerold, I never knew there even was a river Congo. Thanks Jack, and now on to the geography lesson (learned from wikipedia): The Congo River is the second longest river in Africa, shorter only than the Nile, as well as the second largest river in the world by discharge volume, following only the Amazon. It is also the world's deepest recorded river, with measured depths in excess of 220 m (720 ft). Its mouth to the Atlantic is about 40 km wide, and sediment is carried about 30 kms into the Ocean.
