John Heaton
I just downloaded the new LC Africa and tried a 1937 trip and photo over Gaza Is this my error - or Orbx /P3D default (which I can't get now) Is it something to do with this patch being one of the 7 POIs/Photo shots I haven't tried the others yet

John Heaton
Hello Nick If it is default scenery - and I only have P3D - and now I can't check it unless I uninstall LC Africa - and then what do I do if I find it OK on default and I don't fancy another 11++ gig download - if default OK I only have Orbx on my computer - Global - trees - and buildings It seems a coincidence that it item 7 on the POI list I am just going off to find an airport near no 1 poi - ie capetown/Capri
Nick Cooper
Hello John, to clarify, open LC Africa is not working on your PC. Try running Sync Simulator.
John Heaton
OK Nick - done the Sync - no change in Pyramids SS in a second flight Checked all Graphic settings with User Guide - all good or better I flew Capetown to Item I on the google spot - Capri POI and if this is - 2 big holes in the ground - what I was supposed to see then LC Africa is OK What next - Uninstall /restall
Nick Cooper
Hello John, let's stick to one place. If the pyramids still looked like this: then it is still not working. Are we in FSX-SE or P3D v4? Can you attach a copy of your scenery.cfg file please?
John Heaton
OK pyramids the same - and I am using P3D latest version This what I got staring at the sphinx You know I'm an old coot and wont be surprised that I don't know where to look for Scenery.cfg However if you mean the list of various files that we used to look at in FSX and check the order- I found them in P3D and could find NO reference to LC Africa. In Central there was no Configure click in the usual space - the one on lights I remembered that there was an interruption in the down load so I went to verify Files - and got the message 23 files failed - go Verify Files - so I did again - same result - "check with support" Since its way passed my bedtime - first thing to morrow I will uninstall and re -download/instal
Robin Kenward
Hi Nick , Above is email I have used w Orbxdirect , and linked to my auto-Logon there i.e. the one which they use to contact me with new info. [ you may receive this via a Gmail , also good for reply . ] 1 . I have tried to test Orbx quality previously +using FSX , and downloaded Central , and a few Freewares from site , come Manually no problem but after this Central NOT able to open them in it ? 2. Advice : These All Lost on my old drive .which is Actually , fine but " locked out " by a phising or phoney co, via the Windows 7 Pro ----------- Microsoft apparently was hackable system , Last year.2nd time !. in 6 months Any advice here on UNLOCKING old drives to access and use as back-up or a dedicated FSX drive only 3..............is this possibly faster ? Machine is +3g. Mem. 2.3 Gig processor +250G drive ,Winfast syst.+ a 2G 440 VGA GEFORCE / Nividia / 3D avail. but havn't used . 4. Lastly : Now on a New drive JAN 2020 in same PC W10 is installed and when Loaded Orbx-Central for ' FSX " a new installation ; Nothing Works ? + still find no joy in opening in Central ,so maybe it has to have FSX ; Running ? and certain settings adjusted ? or if down loaded " Manually " , Then how is Normal Download installation done , Can these be put into scenery easily as Central is supposed to ? NONE of these things seem clear ? I am 76 yrs and pretty reasonable at this PC /Fair at simming Except for keyboard memory ! + 10 years , FS9., 1year FSX Dont fly much now because I have a difficult Virus caused Paralysis , similar to Gulian Barr disease 7.5 years in a w chair . HI ED Just got out of bed so not done my tricks yet - but I saw this which - meanwhile - prompts the question ? How did Nick get the LC Africa SS - (First Mail) - showing the "correct picture" and he is using P3D
Ed Correia
Can you check the Scenery/0702/scenery folder and confirm that the file giza_image.bgl has been disabled by OC. It should have disabled-by-global-openlc-africa as an extension.
John Heaton
Not much I can do at the moment because I had Central uninstall and the registry cleaned out Apart from that - I wouldn't know where to start looking for what you want I am just a poor user of computers - and Donna speaka da lingo Another question Ed --- you will see that I did a POI test on the No1 area was this the correct view of the LC - or not?? Ed Correia
Your first screenshot looks like that openLC is not installed. The default sim comes with a square patch of photoreal which is what you have displayed. Have you Verified files for Africa and Orbxlibs? Also use the Sync Simulator function in Orbx Central. John Heaton
I redid the verify files bit and told - 1st time 23 files missing - and I installed the latest libraries update and used the sync simulator as Nick suggested yesterday - and I already suggested that the patch was the photoreal bit to Nick in earlier statements above Well! - Having done what I thought was an Uninstall - and cleaned out the rego and a restart I asked Central to Install OLC Africa and got a screen that - although it said it was "Downloading and Installing" - but decided to check 32869 files - which took around 1 hour and then it told me again to verify files - Did this and told that 33 files were missing. Scoured through the Installed files and found a file of some 45 GBs that included "LC Africa" ?? so I directly deleted it to recycle and emptied it --- was this some sort of Back up file that Central was looking at the 32 869 files??? I can find no trace of anything to do with LC Africa - restarted computer - asked Central to install - and got this screen again I gave up and tried to get some flying in on my remaining 54 Orbx sceneries
Nick Cooper
Hello John, with the greatest of respect, if this is really the case Quote I wouldn't know where to start looking for what you want I am just a poor user of computers - and Donna speaka da lingo you seem to be undertaking some quite complex actions, all of which are not necessary. Please leave Orbx Central to its own devices and let's see what takes place. If something goes wrong again, please return to this topic and tell us what it is before you embark on efforts to apply your own solution. As the problem seems to be with Orbx Central and it occurs again, a copy of the log will be necessary. Open the Help page, open the log and then save a copy of it and attach that to your next post. Thanks.

John Heaton
There's 120 of them in the Zip Is there any way in which Central can ignore all that has gone before - and do a NEW install -----Say to the library method bypassing what is set in P3D OR how can I clean out all the stuff in P3D by uninstall - which I did try -unsuccessfully it seems bedtime well past I leave it all with your goodself over your weekend - or if ED goes to work tomorrow in Essendon and he sees all this - maybe he's trapped at home like we are in Queensland.
John Heaton
Another Thought - is it possible just to verify that file of120 items - should it be 154 - 34 missing in verify- or if not - and it is considered the culprit - delete this one - and repaste a correct zip file or uninstall the Africa bits and pieces - especially the User/central file and try to get Central refreshed and try to install Africa again ??
