For all the countries, please take care, even if you think that you have few cases and the virus is far from you. You'll experiment quarantine before or after and if the intensive therapy available places in the hospitals are not enough, the medics will be forced to make a choice about who to reanimate or not. This is the reality, remember that the virus is circulating all over the world, it's very aggressive if he finds the right key.

Ciao Maurizio

Nice to hear from you

I hope you are all safe along with Matteo too

Thanks for the heads up

thanks guys for your thought :) I'm fine, yes, i stay at home going out only if it's strictly necessary, i wear the mask and respect the distance between the other people they recommend. The streets are empties, you haven't idea, it seems to live in the desert. In the night, no cars outside. It's surreal. There are very heavy laws here, if you know to be positive to the coronavirus and you go out, once time detected you risk 12 years in jail, just to describe the climate we're living. My pharmacist installed glasses in front of the cashes and they wear the anti-gas mask. For many of you it's really a good occasion to rediscover the flight simulation and the beautiful add-ons we make, seen that when you are forced to stay at home so many hours, and to destress yourself a bit, a good flight could be really so destressful :)

Hey Maurizio I visited Florence 3 years ago and have to say what a beautiful city to self-isolate! Stay well.

However I must disagree with your final statement. A flight is only "destressful" when one doesn't crash all the ruddy time! Flying more I now realise how awful a pilot I am. Still, I do admire all the beautiful scenery when I am right way up!

Ciao  Maurizio,

I, who live in Rome, understands everything you have said and renews the invitation to all the people who, as in Italy, are in quarantine at home to go out strictly for essential things like going to the pharmacy or going shopping and in this case try to know well what to buy and not go into shopping thinking that the entrances to supermarkets are
quotas and queues in large cities are long. In this regard, in addition to thanks for all the operators in the hospitals,  pharmacies,  law enforcement agencies also go to those who are working on the front lines such as supermarket workers who should be protected like hospital workers thinking about the importance of having the security of getting food.

Unfortunately in Italy there are those who have not yet understood in which dramatic situation I am living against an enemy who has a fleet of ... STEALTH model ... COVID-19 and from ... invisible is attacking our whole planet!

In this video the mayor of Bari Decaro goes around to make those who still stupidly do not understand the importance of going home stay home.

COVID-19 also causes ... commercial aviation records!

The CONVID-19 pandemic inadvertently caused a new record to be set for the world's longest commercial flight  by distance after a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner Air Tahiti Nui was forced to fly from French Polynesia to France on an epic journey 16 hour nonstop through 9,765 miles.

On March 14, Air Tahiti Nui flight TN064 traveled from Tahiti to Paris in what would become the longest scheduled passenger flight ever, The Independent reported. He left Papeete at 3 am local time on Saturday and landed at Paris Charles De Gaulle airport at 6:30 am local time on Sunday, according to the New York Post.

Although the flight typically stops in Los Angeles to pick up passengers and refuel, the new travel ban, which prohibited foreign citizens who had been in Europe from entering the United States, had prohibited this possibility. Instead, Air Tahiti Nui officials decided to capitalize on the "favorable winds and light passenger loads" by flying directly to the City of Lights, for The Points Guy.

From start to finish, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner would have spent about 15 hours and 45 minutes in the skies.

Although the Saturday flight was made necessary by the current travel ban, it broke the distance record of the Singapore Airlines for a 9,534-mile passenger flight between Singapore and Newark, New Jersey, reports the New York Post. Air Tahiti Nui officials have decided to capitalize on "favorable winds and light passenger loads" and fly directly to the City of Lights. (IStock)

The Australian airline Qantas had previously tested a non-stop flight between London, England and Sydney in Australia, on a journey that marked a whopping 19 hours and 19 minutes, crossing 11,060 miles. However, the journey did not taking into account the aviation records because there were no paying passengers on board.

Italian Civil Protection bulletin with updated data on COVID-19 in Italy.

Currently there are 28,710 positive cases with 475 deaths in the last 24 hours which lead to a total of 2978 victims while 4,025 patients recovered

Of the 28,710 patients overall, 14,363 are hospitalized and 12,090 are those in home isolation.

Overall, among the current infected, the deceased and the cured in Italy were 35,713 infected by COVID-19.

Italian Civil Protection has joined the call to stay strictly at home and to go out only for authorized emergencies because only in the last 24 hours in Italy, compared to 187,455 checks, there were almost 8,300 people ... idiots who believe they are on ... vacation who was disputed a move from home without justification.

If the appeals remain unheard, the government is considering tightening for those who do not respect the quarantine at home.

Delta needs to “essentially hit the ‘pause button’” on some of its operations, CEO Ed Bastian told employees in a memo Wednesday, making further major cuts to its operations that include parking more than half of its aircraft. The company’s cuts include cutting back 70% of its capacity, further pay cuts for executives and company leadership, as well as paring back its operations in airports around the country  including its major hub in Atlanta.

“With fewer customers flying, we need less space in airports,” Bastian wrote. “Among other initiatives, we will temporarily consolidate airport facilities in Atlanta and other locations as necessary and close the majority of our Delta Sky Clubs until demand recovers.”
“We are reducing our active fleet size by parking at least half of our fleet – more than 600 aircraft,” he wrote, as well as retiring older planes. He also said “roughly 10,000” employees have volunteered to take leaves of absence. Bastian did not announce any layoffs, but he did not count out the possibility.
“I know everyone is concerned about the security of your jobs and pay. Given the uncertainty about the duration of this crisis, we are not yet at a point to make any decisions," Bastian wrote. Some context: Bastian's message followed a telephone call he and executives at other US airlines held with President Trump to discuss the state of the industry and its request for billions of dollars of government financial assistance.  Bastian said the discussions have been "constructive."

A man died in Santa Clara County from novel coronavirus, according to a statement from the public health department.

The number of cases in California currently stands at 612.
Santa Clara County has five new coronavirus cases, and another eight have been confirmed in San Francisco. No details of the severity or transmission have been provided.
“We caution the media and the public from relying too heavily on confirmed case count as an indicator of the situation in San Francisco,” the city’s Department of Emergency Management warned.

INCREDIBLE!  THE PRESIDENT OF BELARUS STATES THAT COVID-19 IS ONLY ... "PSYCHOSIS" AND WHILE THE ENTIRE WORLD OF SPORT IS STILL ...

... although 51 cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in the country so far, the Belarusian football championship begins regularly today, with the match between Energy and Bate Borisov scheduled for tonight. The match, like all the others in the top flight which includes 16 teams, will be played with open doors, therefore with the presence of the public. Alexander Aleinik, head of the press office of the local football association explained that "the decision to play regularly, and with the public, was made after the meeting on Tuesday in videoconference with UEFA. Many leagues have been suspended, but we are starting now because our football season runs from spring to autumn. " No club has had to complain, and therefore it begins, just as Russia, to prevent the spread of the infection, has decided to close the borders with the neighboring country. Belarusian President Alexandr Lukashenko, the same who years ago wanted to ban marriages between local and foreign women, recommended that the population "take a sauna, drink lots of vodka and work hard to kill the virus in your organisms". Coronavirus which Lukashenko calls a "psychosis", just as the closure of borders is "nonsense".

Heartbreaking images of the effects of this "war" on COVID-19 in Italy.

A dozen Army vehicles arrived at the monumental cemetery of Bergamo (northern Italy) one   of the areas most affected by COVID-19 to transport the corpses that had been piled up in the church for days of the cemetery. The crematorium of the city was not enough to cope with the exorbitant number of deaths recorded in these days in the Lombard city following the coronavirus epidemic. The military caravan has taken dozens of coffins, through forklifts arrived with an articulated lorry, and loaded them onto the vehicles that left the city late in the evening parading for the neighboring streets before taking the highway and reaching other Regions to cremate the corpses.

Unfortunately due of the government provisions, no relative can attend the funeral of a loved one.

Italian Civil Protection bulletin with updated data on COVID-19 in Italy.

A total of 33,190 coronavirus patients in Italy, with an increase compared to Wednesday of 4,480. The total number of infected  people including the victims and the healed  reached 41,035.

On the other hand, 4,440 people were healed, 415 more than yesterday. 2,498 patients are hospitalized in intensive care, or 241 more than yesterday. Of these 1,006 are in Lombardy. In general terms, this is about half of the national capacity. Of the 33,190 patients overall, 15,757 are then hospitalized with symptoms and 14,935 are those in home isolation. As for the number of victims, Italy today has recorded an unenviable record: it has surpassed China. In our country deaths total 3,405, with an increase of 427 in 24 hours (yesterday the increase had been 475).

Unfortunately, these numbers alone are enough to understand that one must stay at home as much as possible and go out only out of necessity because the spread in the world of this COVID-19 is very high so that in the US there are already over 10,000 positives and 158 deaths.

Covid-19 effect: where to park the many planes on the ground?  Flight activity dropped by 70%: the impact will be devastating on the airport system

Yesterday is the news that the Copenhagen airport operator is transforming two of the three runways of its airport into parking areas. In this way, the city's airport will only be accessible with a 22 left or 04 right runway that will be kept open for both take-offs and landings. In a press release, the manager stressed that we are faced with phenomena that we had never seen before: while in the first days of March the drop had been about 30%, in the last few days a 70% decrease in flight activity, much above specified the note, of what happened after 11 September.

Hence the need to reconvert the two runways to ensure parking slots for those aircraft that are not operated, not only by the national airline but also by other airlines that still need to allocate their planes. In this way the airport of the Danish capital will be usable only with a runway: the 22 Left or the 04 Right, which will be kept open for both take-offs and landings. In addition, the company that manages the airport has already placed 1,500 of its 2600 employees on forced holidays. Also in the same note it is highlighted that "the phenomenon seems destined to last for months".

Fortunately "these" do not stop them even COVID-19!

Eurofighter intercept civilian plane that had lost radio contact. The A-320 had taken off from England and headed for Malta

The air force surveillance and defense service by the Italian Air Force does not stop in this moment of national emergency. Today two Eurofighter fighters of the 4th Wing of Grosseto (central Italy) intervened to intercept an A-320 easyJet plane taken off from England and bound for Malta, which during space flight domestic aircraft had lost radio contact with civilian traffic agencies.

The two fighter planes, at the time of the request for intervention, were already flying for a training mission. The order to remodel the mission from training to real was given by the Caoc (Combined Air Operation Center) of Torrejon in Spain, a NATO body responsible for the area, in coordination with the Air Operations Command (Coa) of Poggio Renatico (Ferrara) .

The "hunting guide" staff of the 11th Dami Group of Poggio Renatico provided the pilots of the two Eurofighters in flight with the coordinates and information necessary to reach the civil aircraft and carry out the envisaged "Visual identification" (Vid) procedure, to ensure that there were no emergency conditions. After the restoration of radio communications, the two fighters returned to the Grosseto air base.

INCREDIBLE WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GUAYAQUIL APT IN ECUADOR!

COVID-19 is now also synonymous with borders and closed accesses. Passengers on at least two international flights know one Iberia from Madrid and the other of the Dutch company KLM, who were supposed to land in Guayaquil in Ecuador which, upon decision of a mayor was literally barred the runway at the local international airport. Track blocked by cars and trucks for prevent the physical landing of planes. In fact, in a video taken from a helicopter, several police cars can be seen who occupied the airport:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d83_AuakXyE

As far as we learn from the El Universo newspaper, however, the Iberia plane was empty because it was sent simply to repatriate the Spanish citizens currently in Ecuador. The choice of such a serious initiative would have been taken by the municipal administration of Guayaquil. However, the press stated that the flight had to divert to Quito where it is
landing was authorized. The Ecuadorian government had authorized these planes without passengers because of a plan humanitarian agreement. In this regard, criticisms of the unfortunate initiative came directly from the ministry of Public works from Ecuador that communicated on Twitter that "the actions taken by the municipality of Guayaquil at the airport make  difficult aerial activity planned for Covid-19 ". The mayor of the city, Cynthia Viteri, explained in a call conference which ordered the occupation of the runway to prevent landing because the crew of the Iberia plane - made up of eleven people - should have stayed in the city two days before returning. The first citizen superbly communicated that he will assume the legal consequences of the affair, on which the prosecutor has opened an investigation. In a video posted on Twitter, the 54-year-old also announced that she too was infected with the coronavirus. Guayaquil is the capital of the Ecuadorian province of Guayas, where the highest number of coronavirus cases is currently concentrated, 128 out of 168 positive in the South American country. For this reason, the province has decreed from yesterday until next Monday a prolonged curfew from 4 to 5, while in the rest of the country the curfew starts at 9 pm. In short, for Giovanni D'Agata, president of the "Rights Window", a another fact of the news such as those that are taking place everywhere on the planet documenting the blow to globalized transport, certainly much higher than what happened on 11 September 2001.

Among many bad news there is this that makes us happy and hope!

The two Chinese tourists from Wuhan, wife and husband, have been discharged from the National Institute for Infectious Diseases Lazzaro Spallanzani  in Rome which were the first two cases of COVID-19 positivity found in Italy and who had been hospitalized since 30 January   at the Spallanzani Institute.

They will be transferred to the San Filippo Neri hospital in Rome to complete the rehabilitation. "We love you, Italy" were the words spoken by the woman before boarding the ambulance. And then a thumbs up, an ok, to give a message of hope to ours  Country and the whole world.

US: impressive numbers in the appeals of the American Authorities

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said the city is two to three weeks away from running out of medical supplies.
According to De Blasio, the city needs these items:

    3 million N95 masks
  50 million surgical masks
  15,000 ventilators
25 million each of personal protective equipment, surgical gowns, coveralls, gloves and face masks

“I said very clearly that for the month of March, we have the supplies that we need, the city has very strong reserves of the kind of supplies that I talked about. ... It is going into April that I’m worried about. I don’t have the perfect day for you, we’re assessing all the time but it is a day, two weeks from now or three weeks from now where we must, by then, have had a very substantial resupply. So I think the simple way to think about it, is that the federal government has, essentially, two weeks to get us major resupply or the people of New York City are going to be in much greater danger.”

California Gov. Gavin Newsom described in letter to President Trump on Thursday the impact coronavirus will have on the state and its residents.

“We project that roughly 56% of our state’s population – 25.5 million people – will be infected with the virus over an eight-week period,” he said.
He asked that the US Navy’s Mercy Hospital Ship be stationed at the port of Los Angeles. Defense officials tell CNN the ship will head to the Seattle area in the next five to 10 days. The final destination could always change depending on civilian needs, an official cautioned. Newsom said the hospital ship “will help decompress the health care system to allow the Los Angeles region to ensure that it has the ability to address critical acute care needs.”

United CEO Oscar Munoz and United President Scott Kirby, along with labor leaders, warned that it will have to take the necessary steps to reduce payroll in line with the 60 percent schedule reduction, which goes into effect in April.Earlier this week: United announced a 50 percent schedule reduction but the new travel restrictions the government announced Thursday might lead to additional schedule reductions, according to a United spokesperson.

NEW YORK - A Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) technician who works in the air traffic control tower at John F. Kennedy  International Airport tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.
The technician has not been to the facility since March 16, according to a statement by the FAA. He left the building after a brief visit and did not enter the air traffic control tower cab where air traffic controllers work. He previously was in the facility on March 11. Even though the technician did not enter the tower cab, as a precaution authorities say they had a professional cleaning company come in on Friday morning to conduct a thorough cleaning of the tower cab, equipment room, administrative offices, and elevators. Air traffic controllers were temporarily moved to a different area of the airport to continue operations. Officials say that every FAA facility nationwide has alternate locations that can be temporarily used if control towers need to be closed.

«The spread of coronavirus has put the whole economy and our company in an unprecedented state of emergency. at the moment, nobody can foresee the consequences. The future of aviation is at risk ».

These are the dramatic words of Carsten Spohr, CEO of Lufthansa, the first airline in Europe: "The longer this crisis lasts, the less likely it is that the future of aviation can be guaranteed without public aid". The fact that these phrases are pronounced by the head of one of the most efficient and most solid companies in the world underlines its seriousness. Already in the United States the government has made 50 billion available to American carriers. "There will be structural and permanent changes," adds Spohr, also considering nationalizations.

Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian revealed to employees that the airline now expects revenue to plunge $10 billion in the second quarter of this year  or an 80% decline compared to last year — as the airline deals with the economic fallout from the coronavirus pandemic.
"It's also clear, given the underlying damage the virus has created to the overall economy, that demand recovery will take an extended period once the virus is contained," he said in a letter to employees. Delta arranged for $2.6 billion in new borrowing and drew down an additional $3 billion in cash on an existing credit line, Bastian revealed. And he said about 13,000 of more than 90,000 Delta employees had agreed to take voluntary unpaid leaves. He also defended past spending by the company, saying that most of the profits in recent years went into new aircraft and employees, not to share repurchases or dividends that benefit shareholders. Earlier this week, Bastian wrote another letter to employees in which he said the airline would cut 70% of it scheduled flights and that it would park 600 of its jets, more than half of its fleet. He also warned that involuntary furloughs or pay cuts might be necessary.
"I know everyone is concerned about the security of your jobs and pay. Given the uncertainty about the duration of this crisis, we are not yet at a point to make any decisions," he wrote on Wednesday. "And those are very painful decisions to even consider. In this unpredictable environment we can't take any options off the table, but any steps that would affect your jobs or pay rates would be the absolute last thing we would do, and only if necessary to secure Delta's long-term future."

The World Health Organization launches a warning on the use of masks that risk becoming a double-edged sword: if not used well they can even be a source of infection. WHO warns that the masks must be used and disposed of properly so that they do not only become carriers of germs. Here are the indications of the WHO.

1) The masks are to be used only in case of coughing and sneezing.

2) Before putting them on, you must wash or sanitize your hands.

3) Before throwing them away, it is necessary to clean the hands well with a disinfectant or soap and water.

4) They must then be removed from the rear without touching the front one.

5) They should be thrown into a closed container.

6) Hands must be washed or sanitized again.

Despite the cry that is made in Italy  " STAY AT HOME " on the media and social networks and with the tragedy that is affecting us and the terrible numbers that are taking place that tell us that over 45,000 positives and 4,500 deaths tell us including 3,654 COVID-19 and 17 of them deceased, unfortunately, there are many idiots transgressors in Italy who evade the government quarantine provisions for the Italian people.

The possibility of leaving home is only out of necessity such as who is authorized to go to work, go to supermarkets or pharmacies but it is necessary to bring a self-certification that if a check is not truthful you risk a criminal complaint that provides for up to 5 years in prison and despite this there are many who have not understood that we are "all" at war against COVID-19 and we must leave the  house only for what is strictly necessary and not for example there are idiots those who go to picknic in the parks or as in Salerno (southern Italy) where it is
An Army helicopter had to intervene which, flying at a very low altitude, invited a group of idiots sunbathing in beach to go home while in Florence a boy who was stopped by the police had written on the self-certificate that the need was ... "I have to look for drugs"!

On Italian social networks the anger of those who respect forty against those who believe they are ... immortal and has not changed their habits but does the Italian Health Minister has imposed stricter quarantine measures across the country:

Access to parks, play areas, and public gardens will be prohibited starting Saturday.

The order also bans jogging and other "outdoor physical and leisure activities," which will now only be allowed in the "vicinity of the people's homes." They must maintain a distance of one meter (3 feet) from each other.

People are also prohibited from moving from one residence to the other including holiday homes or in any other home where you don't reside .

The new order lasts until at least March 25 when there should be further restrictive measures by the Italian government. .

In the last 3 hours in the United States there have been almost 2000 new cases for a total of 18,170 COVID-19 positives  while there were 26 deaths for a total of 241.

The city of Nice in France will impose a curfew beginning Saturday night to stop the spread of coronavirus.
Bernard Gonzalez, prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes, told CNN affiliate BFM TV the curfew will be imposed to “stop the gathering of people in the streets.”
“All who need to circulate can circulate: health professionals that need to keep moving around, as well as taxis,” Gonzalez said.
“But this is essentially to stop gatherings of people in the streets, even tonight in the center of Nice we are still seeing gatherings of young people. "
Gonzalez added the curfew will start at 11 p.m. local time and run until 5 a.m.

I don't like being chained to my house. I tend to be more optimistic about this, rather than my parents who are panicking about it. I've mostly just been to the grocery store in the last week, and it's only across the parking lot where I live. The other 95% of that has been chained to my desk sipping water, drinking Pepsi and playing computer games. Although there is a lot of potential cases of this, only about 5% of them have been tested positive for it. If those numbers were inverted, I might be worried.
