announcement Announcing EGPN Dundee Airport for P3Dv4

Looks to be a very interesting airport with lots of charm. Looking forward to see more updates on this airport scenery! That runway does indeed have a great view of the water :D

Looking good so far!

One thing though for night lighting: Please don't model tower windows like this, with lights as bright as a thousand suns. Simply ask yourselves this question: How would the tower controllers be able to see ANYthing when trying to look out of these windows when it's dark outside? :) Exactly, they wouldn't see a thing.

Real tower windows show only very small amounts of light inside the room. And if that is too much of a hassle for you to do, simply remove the tower windows night lighting completely. It would be much more realistic than what you have now.

Nicely done boutique airfield.

Interesting approaches.

I am showing my ignorance, but what is the structure in the 6th shot from the bottom that looks like an over sized ageing air bed?

TTM

It could be a large fuel or water bladder. I have seen similar style bladders at forward air refueling points (FARP's) and forward operating bases (FOB's) during my military service.

Thanks S31.

I was re-reading the introductory notes &  this caught my eye:

"Furthermore, Dundee Airport also serves as an important Amazon warehouse, providing an ideal route for the cargo carriers amongst you."

The runway is about 4,593' long  which will limit the size of what can land there.

I am curious as to which aircraft Amazon are using for their freighting into Dundee.

Great news, this was my home town.  The house I was born in and brought up is about a block outside the frame edge of Picture /9!  I had a magnificent view right up the Firth of Tay from my bedroom window, with the hills of Fife in the distance.  I left there in 1957 to emigrate to Vancouver where I have an extensive library of sceneries in the local region.  I look forward to Dundee`s release.

Does anyone know how Amazon use Dundee Airport and with what type of cargo Aircraft if any?. Looking at Google maps it seem the main warehouse is not actually located directly on the Airport grounds with no connecting taxiways or aircraft parkings nearby. Just curious to know if its time to start painting some AI aircraft :)

Amazon dont use the airfield from what I know, they just have a delivery depot in the industrial estate next to it
