An early morning take off from Juneau Harbour SPB 5Z1

Bird strikes are often encountered with all the gulls living in the Gastineau Channel

However there are none to bee seen today which is very unusual but if you look closely there is something that looks strange on the jetty in front of the Otter!

Over the Douglas Island Bridge and still nothing slightly "gullee"

Now the mudflats leading up to the airport, no white splodges to be seen.

A walk back to the jetty opposite the Prospector Hotel reveals the mystery. They are on strike for better pay and conditions with Mr Eagle overseeing the disgruntled gulls.

Can you blame them as I certainly would not like to be floating in the freezing cold water all day!

I sure would not cross the picket line in that last shot , I have seen the movie "The Bird's" way too many times ........ :o:(:D

One of my all time favourite movies, it made me think of it when I came across this.

I would never cross a picket as some may take offence!

Excellent set Martyn!  And when I got to that last shot all I could think of was there's safety in numbers.

Thanks Jack, I wasn't going to argue with them especially with their minder sat on the pole!:o
