Francis2704 Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Hi guys, I've bought ORBX Netherlands in Aerofly fs2 and installed correctly in a separate directory according to Central, but alas, no scenery??? Any ideas??? Thanks in advance, Francis
Guest Josh Koz Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Hi @Francis2704, Can you attach your central.log file so we can look further into this for you?
Francis2704 Posted September 16, 2019 Author Posted September 16, 2019 That is so kind of you! Here comes ... central.log
Guest Josh Koz Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Hi @Francis2704, I can't see any obvious errors in your current log file. Can you try clicking 'verify files' on TrueEarth Netherlands, waiting for the process to complete then reattaching your updated central.log? This should help me identify if anything went wrong during the installation process.
Francis2704 Posted September 19, 2019 Author Posted September 19, 2019 Hi Josh, New Log file..... Central.log
Guest Josh Koz Posted September 23, 2019 Posted September 23, 2019 Hi @Francis2704, Can you check if the scenery exists at the following path: /Users/francis/Library/Containers/com.aerofly.aerofly-fs-2-mac/Data/Library/Application Support/Aerofly FS 2/addons/scenery Orbx Central should symlink the product from your Orbx Central Library into your Aerofly installation at the above path. If this link doesn't exist Aerofly won't detect the installed product.
Francis2704 Posted September 23, 2019 Author Posted September 23, 2019 Hi Josh, This is what i found...(Gebruikers = USERS)... Any suggestions?
Guest Josh Koz Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 Hi @Francis2704 The provided screenshot indicates that the product successfully downloaded and installed into your Orbx Library. The only part missing that could explain your issue is a link between your Orbx Library and the Aerofly installation. To check if this link exists can you perform the following steps: - Open Finder - In the top menu bar click GO -> Go To Folder - Copy and paste the following path into the box and click go /Users/francis/Library/Containers/com.aerofly.aerofly-fs-2-mac/Data/Library/Application Support/Aerofly FS 2/addons/scenery - Provide a screenshot of the contents of this directory.
Francis2704 Posted September 24, 2019 Author Posted September 24, 2019 Hi Josh, That one is empty...as you expected.... how to put in a coupling? Francis
Francis2704 Posted September 26, 2019 Author Posted September 26, 2019 ( In the mean time I've put the files in this directory so it all works now. I thought, however, that I could use the external directory??)
Guest Josh Koz Posted September 30, 2019 Posted September 30, 2019 Hi @Francis2704 Sorry for getting back to you so late. I've been doing some investigation of this issue to determine why the links aren't being created. It appears to be a limitation of the macOS version of AFS2 that results in AFS2 being unable to read links that Orbx Central creates. This limitation doesn't exist for the Windows/Steam version of AFS 2. Copying the files directly into the simulator addons directory will work and is the suggested workaround for the current version of Orbx Central.. We're currently implementing a change in functionality in the next update which will place the files directly in the simulator address this limitation. Unfortunately this does mean that libraries can't be supported for AFS 2 on macOS.
Francis2704 Posted September 30, 2019 Author Posted September 30, 2019 Hi Josh, very clear. Thanks for your explanation. I will use this workaround for sceneries I'd like to add... best, Francis
