Nick Cooper
Where we live, many of the bridges are hundreds of years old. Every time I visit York, I drive over this one that was built 49 years before the founding of the United States.
Guest
I remember a holiday in Yorkshire Sheila and I once had. We stayed in Harrogate and set ourselves a walking challenge to visit and walk over every bridge on the moors. Of course we failed because there are hundreds of them but we did have a fabulous holiday and saw some truly beautiful scenery. The food was good too, especially at 'Betty's'. We liked the city too. York is really oldie worldie and a very pleasant place. Bloody cold though!

Well, yes, sleeping under bridges is a whole other matter entirely. I agree, problems would arise from that for many people
John York
Y'know, when I think about it, the large majority of the bridges here in the UK must be very old. They certainly look it. And most of them look nice. Now, having left the E.U., on the people's say so, our politicians a busy occupying themselves with trying to build diplomatic bridges!
