active England region problem..

Hi, I'm fairly new to Flight Sims and I am running FSX.

I downloaded the free Iceland region and ran it without any problem, a little slower than usual but

I only have a desktop PC (HP Pavillon) but I paid and download the England package and had 

all sorts of problems besides running slowly. I could not take off in England so I tried taking of from Calais 

crossed the channel, the City of London looked sparse and when I landed at Heathrow it locked up and then

sopped and showed my start up screen!!

Am I expecting to mush with an ordinary PC or is there another problem??
