Issue

Attempting to download and install FTX Central v3. Click 'download & install' appears to work and the app appears as shown in the 2nd screen shot. Only option is to close. I have both X-Plane (via Steam) and Prepar3d installed on a second HDD on the computer. I checked the 'X-Plane_install_11.txt' as noted in the user guide - the file is present and correctly points to the installation. After the app quits, I can find no trace of ORBX on the system - there is no central.log file or 'Orbx' folder under APPDATA.

I usually log in on a standard user account, I also tried this on the machine admin account but with no difference.

Hope you can help - I purchased TrueEarth Great Britain Central and would very much like to see it.

Hi Ben,

Thanks for the very prompt reply.

Part way … Orbx central installed okay and found my Prepar3D installation. But - still It doesn't see the X-Plane installation and doesn't list it.

Hi,

Can you confirm if this file exists at the following path?

%LOCALAPPDATA%\.x-plane_install_11.txt

When X-Plane is installed this file is created for the user the installed X-Plane. Central will look at this file in order to detect your X-Plane installation.

Hi Josh,

Uninstalled & reinstalled X-Plane and Central does find the sim now. I have several people use the computer - I think the file was in the folder for the wrong user profile. I should have spotted that.

All now OK. Thanks for your help.

… And thanks to the team … Just flew over an area of North East England I know well from the ground and the air … this scenery is simply unbelievable. I swear I could see the works van parked outside the factory unit we use!

Hello,

to help with a diagnosis of this problem, please open Orbx Central\Settings\Help and the Log.

Then select all of its contents and delete them.

Save the now empty log.

Close Orbx Central and then open it again.

Once you have done that, please open the log again, save a copy of it and attach that saved copy to

your next posts.

Thanks.
