shermank
this error has prompted a huge thread on the P3D forums as well as other flight sim sites. Supposed cures include disabling VSYNC, enabling VSYNC, ...you get the idea. Some are saying it has to do with your video driver...others that it involves a flaw with W10. Here is the p3d forum thread https://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6315&t=130051 and, from Avsim's 3d forum https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/533994-dxgi-prepar3d-v4-help/ good luck... I had the problem some time ago, but to be candid, I do not remember what I did. I think it might have been involving a driver update and reverting to an older driver...but, I cannot swear to it....:-) Sherm

shermank
Happy you got the issue settled. fwiw, I am using v4.5 with no such issues as dx. But, somewhere along the line, my tweaking will not doubt lead to a future disaster....:-) sherm
twright
I had exactly the same error with 4.5. I've got a GTX1060. I believe its caused by your graphics card becoming overloaded and so it stops responding. 4.5 seems to put a much higher load on the graphics card than 4.4 in my limited testing. I'm eagerly awaiting the highly anticipated hotfix for performance LM have promised for 4.5.
shermank
My card is old... GTX760.so, is it the card, or how hard you try to push it. My GPU is an i4500, so hardly state of the art. It is all a matter of compromise. I set FPS at 31. MOST of the time performance is very good, within limits of my hardware. I keep my settings at the ORBX recommendations. sherm
