John Venema
My local hunting ground, the beautiful Solent area, looking superb in P3Dv4.4 - At 4K resolution originally and using PTA 2.6.3 Park Gate and Whiteley Fareham and Portsmouth Harbour Portsea Island and Portsmouth The Isle Of Wight The Needles (yes the two lighthouses is a bug we will fix for release ) EGHH Bournemouth (upgraded FTX airport integrated into TEGB) EGHI Approach over Southampton City EGHI integration into TEGB We have eight more sections due from the dev team; so we are at 13/20 sections complete. London is likely last because of its complexity, then we move into release mode.
Paul Golding
Looking very nice to me! Can't wait to see how the Thames estuary/Essex is going to look.
flying_fish
Very nice JV - like the way airports blend into the setting - EGHI especially.

Archeopteryx
Excellent! The improvements to Southampton and Portsmouth are superb. There's an error at the Needles tho, there should be only one lighthouse, the one with the helipad. I can't wait to buy this! Bob

Hi john, difficult to see on my phone with these pics... were you able to utilise some of the updated autogen roof models created by Earth Sims in TE-UK after you acquired their IP? Some of the residential roofs incorporating chimneys rooflights and solar panels were very ahead of their time in 2015. Did they perform well enough in P3D4 to be used at scale or did you choose not to use them at all? Asking because I think they were orders of magnitude better quality that default, and I cant determine from screenshots whether youre using them or not? Thanks K

Thanks K We’re not using any of ES’s tech in the TE series. Their stuff may have looked pretty but it wasn’t very efficient. In any case you can’t use complex house models for autogen in P3D, unless you want performance to tank.

Thanks for that, I did wonder how it would scale. I did some of my own test autogen with their agn roofs a cpl of years ago in a rural location and it wasnt so bad, but I didnt try it in heavy urban environments. I'm interested to see what visual impact your HD Buildings has when it appears as well....

And where is the HMS Prince of Wales? HMS Prince of Wales (R09) should be in Rosyth for fitting-out until commissioned next year, followed by sea trials. At that point, HMS Queen Elizabeth will probably hit dry dock for 'maintenance' / crewing issues . There's a very nice freeware F-35 (all variants) from IndiaFoxtEcho - look for v2.41 unless you want the payware v3. Back on topic, I like the little touches of realism such as the WightLink ferry instead of 'insert cookie cutter generic boat' here that ORBX always bring to their products. Looks stunning, but as bruce e asks, can we have shots that haven't been messed with by third party apps? I can't help but think it's rather odd to produce a scenery and then show us how good it is if its improved by another piece of software!
John Venema
We have been using 3rd party addons (ReShade, SweetFX, PTA, xVision, UWXP, REX, ASP4, ASXP, ASCA,, to name a few) to enhance the visuals of the sims we use to show our products for over 10 years now, so that’s not about to change.
