In this case the King is a KingAir 200, being started in Hervey Bay.

When you are travelling in Australia, always look out for the Roos. They don´t follow established traffic rules and quickly come closer than you like!

Gerold, I wish I was able to be this funny in a second language.  You are truly a talented guy.

Great photos, as always.  Looking forward to plenty more in 2019.

Thanks for your kind words, Mark. I´ll try to go on discovering the sim world, maybe even mixing it with real views.

Thank you, thank you very much!  Elvis has left the building!  Very cool trip Gerold, I loved it.

Sorry if I misled you, Jack. But I think you knew that I was currently "travelling" in Queensland, didn´t you?

Looks like a typical JFK arrival to me , anyway more outstanding shots from down under Gerold .:o:)

Cheers

John

I was quite confused when I heard jet engines while sitting in a prop plane. I guess Qantas gets priority from the locals :D.

Great shots Gerold. Nice trip. The King rules.:)

Thank you Karl. Both Kings mentioned here are great. And I have even one additional King for you, Karl:

Great set Gerold, the King Air is a real beauty.

Thank you Chunk. Indeed, and with p3dv4 I can even use the Avidyne in Brisbane without going to single digit FPS!

A very enjoyable journey and a number of really good pics, especially the first, the fifth and the last one, of course... The good thing with Pro-ATC/X is that it lets any aircraft on approach before you go around... I don't know how it does that, but it's quite comfortable.

Thanks Lars. I use Pro-ATC/X for IFR flying (you can set its preferences regarding to AI traffic), but I use the default ATC for VFR. And, as we see above, this ATC does not take the speed of the incoming planes into account...

Hey Gerold. As always, a wonderful trip. To....Brisvegas? So where's the sideburns on this Aussie King?

Thank you Rodger! The nickname Brisvegas is slightly established, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brisbane#Brisbane_nicknames

But I have to disappoint you regarding the Kings: They do have a Queen (she lives near London), and their Royal Flying Doctor Service has some KingAirs. King Karl is either a singer in Hamburg, or a pilot in Langley, BC :D.

I was expecting a turn to the east and a trans pacific flight.

I did not have enough drinks on board to make a direct trans pacific flight with the KingAir from Hervey Bay.

Is it called Brisvegas because of the casinos or the number of Elvis impersonators?

According to the all-knowing wikipedia it is indeed the number of casinos and bars. I am not sure, if Elvis is alive there as well, but I´ll check next year ;)!
