olderndirt
Point of departure was Carlisle - short southesterly flight to the north end of the district. Bassenthwaite Lake - first of several. This guy is named 'Skiddaw', comes right up out of the ground - one of several "Monroe" sized peaks in the area. Derwent Water and the town of Keswick. Ullswater looks to be the biggest. This one is Thirlmere and the peak above the little lake is named 'Dollywaggon Pike'. Perhaps the most famous, Lake Windermere - the town is Bowness. Conniston Water - famous for the speed runs of the Campbell family - son Donald had a fatal crash in '67 after exceeding 300 mph.
VH-KDK
I don't recognise it at all as it always poured with rain when I went there. Beautiful set and well worth visiting low and slow.

olderndirt
In all honesty, these look kind of crappy compared to some I got from 'South'. Something is different and/or lacking.
Rodger Pettichord
Wow, OND. That is the best single Lake District tour I've ever seen. Beautiful shots and very helpful narrative/tour book. I like this a lot. Thanks!
