Recently I have rediscovered Frank Daineses Cerro Torre freeware, so I had to try it in p3dv4. Approaching El Calafate...

... and leaving again.

El Lago Argentino.

Here we come to the Glacier Viedmar.

And this is the highlight: Cerro Torre. That peak does not only look amazing, so is also the story of its climbing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cerro_Torre

Next to it is Mount Fitzroy.

Here we see them both while heading downwind into El Chalten.

Fantastic mountainwork by Frank. If only anyone would still have his scenery "Torres del Paine" ???!

Heart-pounding flying adventure! Your choice of planes makes the landscape justice!

I needed some faster toys, as the distances down there can easily be underestimated...

Great shots .. and flying!

Any issues with OpenLC SA? or am I in the wrong place:huh:

cheers

Thank you Ray. Everything works fine with openLC SA, though the region does not have too much detail...

Beautiful stuff.  In my FSX days you had to contact Frank by email to request a download for that one.

I did so, OnD, but he has lost all his files in a server breakdown. So anyone around who still has them should offer it to the world...!

Extremely well narrated flight with a really nice slideshow to back it up Gerold! :)

Luckily enough the flight was no slideshow. Do you remember these from the old days of simming?

Nice Gerold!  But I wouldn't want to live on a house on the runway, I live under the flight path as it is and that's bad enough :D

Haha, I saw that while taking off, but mixing FTX scenery with older photo stuff can sometimes confuse us... good that I have the crash detection inactive.
