Yes, the missing lighthouses are a clear oversight! Hope they will be added soon! (At least before the Aerofly FS 2 version will be released: in that regard I am happy Orbx first released the P3D version so the Aerofly FS 2 version will be 'perfect' from right away LOL )

As I performed some flights, I found till now a couple of details wher i(m not happy with:

1. Remarked double shadows on some windmills as supposing having 2 suns in our solarsystem. One shadow is dropped by sun in the south and one is dropped by sun in the west.

    Exact location: 52° 46.03' N  -  5° 2.52' E   (North of Amsterdam

AmsterdamNtharea_doubleshadows.jpg

2. At Scheveningen (coastal area of The Hague) the iconic and famous Pier is missing and the Kursaal(Casino) is ugly represented(also other buildings show a flat grey roof) -> see comparaison with real aireal view:

Scheveningen_KursaalPier.jpg

Scheveningen_KursaalPier_real.jpg

Maybe to be solved via future update with correction-files, thank you

One shadow is dropped by the sun in the sim, the other shadow is baked into the photoreal textures... Not much you can do about it unless you edit ALL shadows out of the textures, which is a mighty (and almost impossible) task...

First of all my compliments for a  fabulous scenery of my home-country.

A suggestion for the builders:  most rural stables and wharehouses and are much to  high.

Normally they are very low and have shallow gabled roofs.

thanks for this nice scenery,

Philip

Coming from the Norrhsea with The Hague lying in front ( Scheveningen ) of me and Rotterdam far in the back , 5/7 seconds after arriving over land there are multiple big stutters.

Even with Scenery disabled ( no inner city of The Hague ) those stutters exist.

Multiple people have experienced these stutters at the same place

First of all; three abbreviations (or a math): NL + TE = OMG!

It's just plain wonderful, heck, make up all the superlatives you can find... and then search again, it is that good!

I agree on the churches and light houses. They are VFR objects to find the route.

For myself my home city Tilburg is very nice but is missing three POI's I'd like to see:

1. Tilburg: Westpoint

2. Tilburg: Interpolis

3. Tilburg: Stadsheer

Since I am a frequent visitor of the "GLV5" to photograph helicopters in this low flying zone, I'd like that one to have a minor correction:

The red zone can have the trees to be removed entirely. That area is one of the corridors which is used to fly at a very low level.

This low fly zone can be found just west of EHEH (forgot to include coordinates).

This is the red area in real life:

In case you want to complete the amount of windmills: there is one missing in Soest. It's covered by trees in TE. ;)

EDIT
Turned off autogen trees: the mill is hidden underneath the trees indeed! ;) BTW The trike is a GREAT plane to use with TE!!!

The one from FSX! I copied the entire trike folder as it is into P3D's aircraft folder and it works like a charm. Afaik the folder is a straight backup of the FSX trike's folder without any changes. (Conversation continued via PM... ;) )

Hi guys,

Netherlands TrueEarth is an amazing scenery. Today I was flying between Ameland and the National Park Schiermonnikoog. Those two isands looks pretty the same, but Schiermonnikoog has a caracteristic lighthouse (red building) that is missing ... Is it linked with my install ?

No, it seems lighthouses aren't included at all right now. Hopefully they will be added some time because the Dutch coast looks odd without those lighthouses. ;)

Hi Fly Guys,

In the meantime I have made several flights through the Netherlands.

I made YouTube videos and put location texts everywhere.

Have a look and compare to reality.

Overall it looks pretty good compared to Google Earth Pro.

Myself, I live in Enkhuizen and I must say that is not pretty good. I flew over with an Ultra-light but I have to make a new one and create the YouTube.

I miss the famous Drommedaris, the so-called Koerpoort. Also I miss the moat around Enkhuizen, but I have to look better.

However, what can we expect looking at details. Is that written down somewhere?

But again, I see a lot of very good things and am proud to have Orbx around. I assume there will come some improvements in the near future.

Greetings from a sunny Enkhuizen,

Wil

Hi mates,

To make things more effective, you have to point things with factual description and location information here instead of forwarding to external link

Hi Richard,

Do you want me to move the topic?

I know there is the subject Community Videos.

As a matter of fact it was my intention to let the other flyers have a look and judge.

Thanks anyway ;)

Wil

It isn't really written down what you may expect regarding details but 1. usually your hometown will look worse than the rest because you know it too well and 2. TrueEarth tries to capture the feel of the scenery with some POI's here and there and autogen in most places. It doesn't show you what's actually down there APART FROM (obviously) the photoreal textures (although things may not be totally up to date). Even the CityScape area's won't look exactly like the real thing (again apart from the POI's). And you can't expect 10.000 POI's or every city to look real in a scenery costing 34 euro's.

Concerning improvements: it would be nice already if all main churches would be at least represented with a specific autogen building (because every town or village has one and you simply need those to portray the Netherlands). The same goes for all light houses. Other than that you can't expect anything, really, and everything that will be added will be a nice bonus.

I wonder if freeware additions could play a role in this... I can imagine people adding detail to their own hometown and it would be nice if those additions could somehow be shared officially and legally.

Performance issues ( memory leak ? )

Example flight:

FTX Germany :  AS Frankfurt taking off at 07C

TU Netherlands : FT Schiphol landing at 18C

Wind 140

( No clouds as there are none today ( ASP4 + ASCA active )

Framerate locked at 25 and no problem achieving that.

When arriving over Schiphol and turning North to make U turn over Beverwijk and come back and land on 18C the framerate starts to drop rapidly to 3 fps at landing. When then reloading the scenery framerate goes up to 23 .

I tried the same flight with another brands photo real scenery from the Netherlands + Custom AG + another brands 3D objects --> no issues

Then turned on UT Netherlands again and made a sightseeing flight for 1 hour at 5000 ft / 240 knots. No issues.

However when climbing at the south of the Netherlands to 15000 ft m, flying across the border with Germany , turn left towards the IJssel lake / Amsterdam direction and then fly the same route as when coming from Frankfurt , to land on the 18C the same issue appears and framerat starts to drop till 3.

As a last thing I did was flying at 5000 ft for 1 hour over the area Schiphol - The Hage - Rotterdam  an no issues. But I stayed away from the area North of Schiphol.

As the framerate drops in the same area I am starting to think about a memory leak.

System :

7940x 14 cores at 4.8 Ghz

32 Gb 3200 MHz CL14

1080TI OC

all SSD SATA 600 only

Here’s another thing I’ve noticed, and this is just my opinion and no critisim of a perfect scenery, the best ever made!!

So here goes. What I was most looking forward to was to finally have a beautiful scenery with trees and buildnings in correct scale. And the scenery is imo absolutely perfect, except for one thing. Spred out across the country side are a large number of huge gigantic barns and warehouses who in my humble opinion negatively effects the perception of the size of the landscape, distances between towns or hamlets and most importantly perception of altitude.

My clumsy attempt to illustrate this:

At #1 in the shot below is a large barn with perfect size (imo)

But at #2 there are three enormous barns who also happens to be the same model and texture as the building in #1. The textures are also streched to fit the upscaling.

1.thumb.jpg.741fec5d5b94a2ba87a7c4809ad9d9f2.jpg

The main problem with this (apart from the cosmetic side) is that it is very hard to judge altitude.

When I fly over the barn at #1 at 2000 ft everything is perfect.

But when I pass #2 the perception is suddenly that I am at 1000 ft.

This is due to the huge size in combination with streched textures that make it look like a barn seen from 1000 ft (again in my humble opinion).

I understand that this is something that not slipped by the beta testers, but are the way it is designed (and I understand some of the peculiarities of the autogen system rendering at runtime).

But personally I really wish that this could be corrected by placing object of the correct scale (height in this case). But I realize that this is probably not possible if it can't be done by some sort of automation since it is a huge task of annotating the scenery tiles. But I really hope it could be corrected in a future patch. At least around some of the airfields.

Sorry if this sounds like the ramblings of a madman but english is not my first language, but I hope I presented my humble opinion in a way that is coherent and understandable. :)

/Magnus

Thanks for this great scenery, when I fly over south west Brabant I don't see a lot of windmills but in this region there are a lot.

Here are 2 links with a lot of info about the windmills, you can zoom in yourself and see the info. I find the second link the best because it represent the actually updated file with info.

I hope you can do something with it Richard, if you need some help just let me know.

eham 18c

First off all , i think it is a good step forward! Is the scenery finished.... no.

My Main issues are elevation issues at eham ( probably my own fault with the eham scenery from fly tampa?)

And as a real world pilot flying into eham i miss the sugar factoy towers in front of 18c in the town of zwanenburg . They are one of the most prominent features of the airport!

Especially because of the lights inside these towers

Keep up the good work!

Hi Folks!

Some other thing needs to be corrected please: Some Fire-Smokes are flying high above the ground. Saw them at Maatricht, Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

Thanks a lot!

I believe this is controlled by the "Special Effects" settings in P3Dv4. The stacks below the flames will reappear with the settings turned up.

As mentioned earlier in this topic there are some important churches and lighthouses missing.
For example my hometown Gouda is missing the Sint Jans Church and the iconic city hall:

Gouda-2.png

Also missing the railbridge which you can see from the sky as a VFR reference:
