Stillwater
... not to mention the desert: All compressed into a relatively narrow area, that´s what Chile is about. Climbing out from Arturo Merino Benitez International Santiago de Chile... ... to see some peaks while crossing the surface of the cloud layer. A surprising feeling at FL250: Ground level is quite high here, at least the GPWS did not sound. A part of Atacama desert, probably no good place for an emergency landing. The man in the moon is watching our approach initialisation. Antofagasta harbour below. I hope the bars are ready to open soon... Not too many landmarks around for orientation. But Cerro Moreno International of Antofagasta is easily recognizable. Get out & into the town!

Jack Sawyer
That was cool Gerold! I'm still amazed by the altitude down there, 25K feet and it still looks like you're low level.

These extra effects are a pleasure. 45 minutes ago, Jack Sawyer said: That was cool Gerold! I'm still amazed by the altitude down there, 25K feet and it still looks like you're low level. Good to see this impression is captured in the shot! I was confused when I looked out of the window and double checked the altimeters - the ground really looked so close. Sniper31
Another fine little South American Orbx excursion Gerold. I love those two shots in the middle with the pinkish horizon and stars, and then the moonshot capture. All in all, a great set of shots and trip

I planned the flight into sunset, Francois - and the weather was by chance. The rest is just good performance of the sim... 1 hour ago, Sniper31 said: Another fine little South American Orbx excursion Gerold. As said just above: The time was planned, the weather was luck. The performance is good - and the old HD moon textures do their job just as they did in FSX!
