South America is not only tropical rainforest...

... and I am always underestimating the size of Argentina: Buenos Aires is nearly in the middle latitudes of the country, and still it is a 2.5 hour flight to the south. Taking off in Buenos Aires / Ezeiza:

Heading south over the wide green plains...

... and the Atlantic coast at the Peninsula de Valdes.

The Andes are visible in the background.

Who likes approaching in such a visibility?

At least Punta Arenas´ runway 31 can finally be seen. However, without vertical guidance and with a very tight final circle in the procedure this was not the finest landing...

PS: I wonder if FTX Trees make a difference in the scenery down here :D.

Excellent set Gerold and like you I don't realise just how big the place is.

Maybe they will have to bring out an ORBX grass and bush add on for the sparser areas of the planet.

... and the new FTX Grass should also contain FTX cattle or FTX picnic functions. Though, all difficult to spot from FL390... ;)

What a great flight, Gerold. Thanks for taking us along. It's not only Argentina, but the whole continent is so huge

You might be right, Bernd. I´ll be flying up Chile now...

Super shots Gerold, and you're right, looking at my world map on the wall, well, it's enormous.  Bigger than the entire USA.

Now that even surprises me, Jack. I should also have a globe near my sim...!

That carpet was waiting mainly for you, John. But then a lady in the appropriate dress came along...

Another fine SA discovery flight Gerold. There is definitely a vastness to the SA continent. Nice landing and flight with some great shots!

Thank you Sniper. As I wrote the landing was not too easy...

That's a fact I didn't know Gerold...super job with the shots! :)

Thanks Adam. Good that the PMDG plane stops just before TOD, so I could relax while over the clouds...

Excellent flight Gerold!  I like your airplane :).

You are welcome, Paul. A bit too big for this medium distance, but a pleasure to fly.

I like approaching in this visibility. Sometimes I even wonder if those weather programs make the weather nicer for us to fly more VFR. Just repeat your landings until you're fine with them and take the extra practice with you... Seriously, I liked your journey a lot, thanks.
