Ewen Savage
Hi, I have the following scenery installed: FTX Global FTX Vector FTX OpenLCEurope FTX Global Trees Orbx Ireland Orbx Nothern Ireland Obx Scotland Orbx Wales I can load up an aircraft and fly in a non Orbx region no problem, but when I try and load into an Orbx region I get a crash to desktop within about 5-10 secs. I have uninstalled every add-on except the the Orbx scenery in an attempt to pinpoint the problem, but there is nothing coming up in Event view why i get the CTD to point me in the right direction. Any ideas on a solution to the above?
Nick Cooper
Hello, welcome to the forums. Is your crash to desktop a complete disappearance of P3D? If so, do you have any AI aircraft installed? There is nothing in the FTX scenery that could cause this across all the products.
Ewen Savage
Hi Nick, Yes it is a complete disappearance of P3D and no I dont have any AI,(by which I assume you mean addon aircraft) installed. The only thing installed in the sim is the above mentioned scenery.
Nick Cooper
No, I mean AI aircraft, those that appear when you move the traffic sliders to the right. In my experience so far, P3D will disappear like that for two reasons, one when there is an FS9 model present and two, if it is asked to do more than it can. There is hard evidence to support the FS9 models causing this but the asking too much is just my observation and apparently the only possible reason for some customer reported crashes. It does happen to me from time to time but never consistently. Just to rule out the scenery library, can you use the Insertion Point tool on the FTX Central settings page to set the FTX icon at the top or just below any other addon scenery and the OLC icon just below the FTX icon. Click on Save.
Ewen Savage
Thanks for the quick reply. I have tried the above but to no avail. On this crash though there was an event in event view, faulting module was api.dll . Very nondescript hopefully this helps out?
