I only need the innards and a case, I have all other peripherals. I also realise how redundant these threads are, but I have read lots here and you guys always have good advice. I AM computer savvy but I have researched so much I am now unable to make a clear desicion. I do know a couple of things.

It MUST have i7 920 and HD 5850 GFX card apart from that I am open to your suggestions, I am also gonna add that V8 cooler to it so I can clock it up in the CPU sector

I have made a few selection and here is teh contents of 1 of my carts on teh many many computer sites around

CPU - Intel i7 920 Core i7 CPU, 2.66 GHz, 4.8 GT/sec QPI, 8MB Cache, Socket LGA1366 $328.97

GFX - ATI Radeon HD5850 HD-5850 PCI-E 2.0 1GB 256-bit GDDR5, 725/4000MHz, Dual DVI/ HDMI/ Display Port, DX11, Fan. $368.98

RAM - Corsair TR3X6G1600C9 6GB (3x XMS3 2GB) PC-12800 (1600MHz) XMSP DDR3 For X58 MB/i7 Core, 3x240-pin DIMMs, Triple Kit, 9-9-9-24, 1.65V $214.17

HDD X2 - Seagate 500GB HD 3.5" 7200rpm 16M SATAII Hard Drive $106.68 thats 2 drives combined price

DVD Drive - Samsung 22x DVD RW Dual Layer Burner SATA Black 'Nero 8 EST inc' $41.99

Cooling - COOLER MASTER V8 COOLER $82.49

MoBo - Gigabyte GA-EX58-EXTREME MB, Intel X58+ICH10R, QPI 6.4GT/s, DDR3 2000, PCI-Ex16, SATAII, RAID, IDE, 2xGbE LAN, 8ch audio, 2oc PCB,USB2, Heatpipe. $441.65

$1,584.93 total without case and PSU.

http://www.anypc.com.au/ (no affiliation with them at all, just the cart i chose for this thread)

now I am not really opposed to spending more, but i really want/need to try to stick to $1500 max and still need a case and PSU and think from what o read i will need a decent case for airflow and cooling..

My real question is i suppose, Whats my best trade off here, I will be OCing the CPU so the Mobo needs to be OC friendly if you know what i mean. Also without being rude, Id really appreciate actual answers not just, looks like a good system to me etc etc.

hey mate ive been fooling with my system n just put in a v10, its absolutly massive 8) so check to see if it will fit in the case.

positives is that running intel burn was only at 40 max & i live in WA about 25 celcius Q6600oc 3.4 downside is it is quite loud.

I think i paid 200 bargain if you ask me  :D .Plus i recently got a gigabyte gtx285 also worth its weight in gold, no more textures popin in

hope this helps
