VH-KDK Posted April 8, 2017 Share Posted April 8, 2017 The Douglas B-18 Bolo was the immediate predecessor to many of the famous American WW2 bombers. It was however totally obsolete when it entered service, with it's lack of speed, defensive armament and bomb load. It ended up as a useful anti-submarine plane for the US and Canada sinking 3 U-boats. 1. Cape Blanco Airport is on the very south west edge of PNW. 2. Floras Lake Beach with Floras Lake. 3. At Bandon. 4. The Bolo's bomb bay. 5. Near Bandon Dunes with the turret ready for action. 6. Coming into Coos Bay over South Slough. 7. Coos Bay and the Coos River. 8. Coming in to land on rwy22 9.
