Cheers Sammy, Shannon and Gander airports were very important re fuelling stops in those days. Today people find 13 hours on a jet a long flight but in the 50s it could take 14-16 hours to cross the Atlantic in far less comfort.

As nice as the propliners were Jack I still like to travel in the 777! Higher and quicker.:)
