VH-KDK
The C-46 Commando was well suited for flying over the Himalayas from India to China in WW2 which was known as The Hump. Some of the terrain was over 16000ft. This short flight is not as strenuous for either the plane or the crews. It is in the Alps and the C-46 can safely fly along at 10000ft. 1. Departing LOWI. 2. Climbing along the Inn Valley with the Wetterstein Mountains in the distance. 3. Turning north with the town of Telfs just below. 4. Seefeld in Tyrol with the Karwendel Range behind. 5. Avoiding Gehrenspitze one of the Tannheim Group of mountains. 6. More of the Wetterstein Mountains and still climbing. 7. Looking back to Mittenwald. 8. Nearly out of the Alps and flying by Walchensee. 9. 10. The Starnberger See 11. Coming into land at Lechfeld AFB. 12. Looks good but about the worst landing I have made for ages.
